At Twister Ridge Ranch is located 10 miles east of Vinita, Oklahoma in the beautiful rolling hills of northeast Oklahoma’s Green Country, not far from the Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri borders. We are a second and third generation, family-owned ranch raising grass-fed Lowline Angus beef. We raise our beef naturally without using hormones, antibiotics, or grains.

Lowlines are 100% Angus heritage beef cattle that are well proportioned with a more compact, smaller frame size. They offer all the advantages of Angus cattle but in a smaller package; heavily muscled, quality carcass, with typically larger rib eyes per 100 lbs of body weight than the larger Angus.

We offer whole beef at two years of age, delivered to a quality USDA inspected meat processor near Big Cabin, Oklahoma. Current pricing as of 11/1/2016 is $3.40 per lb. of hanging weight, averaging 300 to 450 lbs. For more information or to order a beef call (281) 468-5881 or e-mail us at alannafrank@reagan.com.

Cattle Tracks Beef. What’s unique about Cattle Tracks Beef? Cattle Tracks is the only grass-grazed, grass-finished beef that is raised on a family owned/operated farm in Oklahoma, and the nation, with these three certifications: Non-GMO Verified, Certified Organic, and Animal Welfare Approved. Why are certifications important on our farm? Many of our customers agree that certifications are another means of knowing the practices used in raising livestock. We believe these certifications are based on livestock-raising techniques that go along with our desire to raise beef the way it was intended, free of inputs, implants, and in a sustainable, friendly environment.

non-GMO logo

What’s healthy about Cattle Tracks Beef? We had Cattle Tracks tested for healthy qualities instead of relying on the grass-fed industry standard. The Omega 6 / Omega 3 ratio surpasses the average for grass-fed beef and the CLA result is among the highest on record. These outstanding results are attributed to their extensive grass-grazed diet; in addition we supplement with a very small quantity of organic oats or barley, grown on our farm, at weaning and when weather stresses livestock. The maximum any animal would get a day is under two pounds, compared to the 40–50 pounds of corn of a feedlot animal.

What’s available to you from Cattle Tracks? Cattle Tracks Beef is sold by the cut, quarter, half or whole and is available year-around. When ordering a quarter, half or whole you determine a cutting order that best fits your needs. Dry-aged, 100% premium. It is our pleasure to serve the folks of Oklahoma, especially those wishing to know their farmer and who believe healthy soil = healthy plants = healthy food.

Where/how you purchase Cattle Tracks Beef? OSU/OKC Farmer’s Market the 1st Saturday of each month; Oklahoma Food Coop, www.oklahomafood.coop. Call ahead to visit the farm or to make a purchase.

The Chapman Creek Cattle Company finishes its certified grassfed beef cattle the old fashioned way—in the pasture, naturally. Our mission is to provide the highest quality grassfed beef to our customers. We sell our beef by the side and make the buying experience as easy as possible.

We take orders year round and provide special pricing for cattle that are processed for delivery in the spring and fall each year. We provide free delivery to the metro Kansas City and northeast and central Kansas areas. For pricing and availability please see our web site or contact us at clark_duffy@cox.net.

All of our natural beef is certified grassfed by the American Grassfed Association. That means you can be assured our cattle have never received antibiotics or hormones and are finished on our native pastures. These cattle are 100% grassfed and never in a feedlot environment. All of our cattle are processed one at a time in a federally inspected processing plant.

Our certified grassfed beef is naturally lean, yet tender and flavorful, something only a truly natural product can provide. Grassfed beef has a firm texture and distinctively rich flavor you are sure to enjoy.

Certified grassfed beef is the delicious healthy choice. Cattle that eat just grass have higher ratios of omega fatty acids that reduce the risk of health problems. Only fish and olive oil have higher ratios of omega fatty acids. A healthy acid known as CLA is formed in the rumen of cattle when they only eat grass. The primary benefit of CLA is converting human body fat into lean muscle.

The Chapman Creek Cattle Company is owned by Clark and Susan Duffy. Our ranch is located in the western edge of the Flint Hills on the banks of Chapman Creek near Abilene. We also work with Glen and Patricia Everhart who own JOE’S Ranch in the eastern edge of the Flint Hills just north of Topeka.

For additional information please visit our website or contact us by e-mail or phone. Stay Slim–Be Healthy: Eat Grassfed Beef. Thanks, Clark.

Dale Family Farms is a small farm owned and managed by two generations of Dales. Located in South Central Kansas, we are striving to be sustainable. To do this, we have learned that we must better utilize our resources through improved grazing practices and reduced reliance on fuel and equipment. Over the last few years, we have realized that letting our animals remain in their natural environment—doing what they do best, grazing—is the key to sustainability.

Our beef comes from cattle that are finished on a strict forage diet of legumes, grasses, and forbs. The beef we sell contains no synthetic growth hormones and no antibiotics. When prepared properly, we have found that grass-finished beef is as tender as grain-fed beef with a much richer, fuller, beef flavor. Beef is available by the cut, wholes, halves and quarters.

Laying hens are allowed to free-range during the day, foraging for green grass, seeds and insects. This “salad bar” approach to their diet improves the flavor, texture and nutritional value of the eggs they produce.

Broilers are allowed to free-range during the day and can't even be compared to the industrial chickens you find in the store.

Turkeys are also allowed to free-range during the day, often traveling more than a quarter mile from their roost to forage. They are available for the holiday season.

In 2010, pigs were added to the farm. Our hogs are also pastured and allowed to roam the tree rows near their pen, digging up roots and grass to supplement their diet. Pork is available by the cut, whole or half.

DFF also now carries goat and rabbit.

Farmer Brown Beef is located near Warrensburg, MO, about 50 miles southeast of Kansas City. Delivery is available within a 100 mile radius including the Kansas side of the Kansas City area.

Our family has been raising and eating grass fed Polled Herefords in a closed herd for about 50 years. Recently we have begun to give the cattle fresh grass daily through rotational grazing mimicking natural herd behavior. We do not use grain, antibiotics, or hormones. Our carbon footprint is quite small and through our rotational grazing management we expect will become highly carbon sequestering as the soil awakens with life and begins building topsoil naturally at a vigorous rate.

This healthy, environmentally and humanely raised 100% grass fed beef is available as wholes, halves or split halves. Meat is processed by Remer in Clinton and dry aged.

Farrar Family Farm is located 50 miles south of Kansas City in Adrian, MO. We offer grass-fed, grass-finished beef, forest-raised pork, pasture-raised chicken and free-range eggs. Our goal is to provide you with naturally raised wholesome food using sustainable farming methods that mimic the patterns found in nature.

We use rotational grazing to raise our grass-fed, grass-finished beef. We move the cattle around our farm daily to new pastures and fresh forage.

The chickens and turkeys live on pasture with fresh air and sunshine. They scratch and forage for grass and bugs in addition to their non-GMO feed. Our egg layers follow behind the cattle in their rotation cycle. They sanitize the pastures while ranging for natural sources of food along with their non-GMO feed. This cooperation between the cows and the chickens allows for the healthiest pastures and the most nutrient-rich eggs.

What is forest-raised pork? Pigs that live in the forest! This is the ideal environment for a pig. They use their snout to root around and turn up the ground uncovering food on the forest floor. They also have access to non-GMO feed. Good bacon comes from happy pigs.

Each month we make deliveries in Raymore, Lee’s Summit, Lenexa and KCMO/plaza areas. In the summer you can find us at the Raymore & Lee’s Summit farmers markets. We sell our products as individual pieces (1 steak, 1 pound ground, 1 whole chicken, etc.) with no minimum order. We offer bulk/wholesale options (half, quarter or eighth beef) or CSAs in the summer (May-October). Check our website for pictures and information on our farming methods. Email us for pricing or to place an order. Visit our website for updated information and follow us on Facebook or Instagram!

Goff Greengate Farm's mission is to handle the land as God intended… naturally, with good stewardship and using the most natural and sustainable products available to us at the time. We offer all-natural, pastured, grass-finished lamb and beef.

Our pastured poultry meat birds are fed organic, non-soy, non-GMO feed along with Fertrell's Poultry Nutribalancer trace minerals in addition to the fresh pasture land they are rotated onto twice each day via their "chicken tractors." Because we have chosen to process our own broiler chickens, no saline injections, additives, or preservatives are ever a part of our broiler chicken final products! Our 2013 broiler harvest dates are (tentatively) May 11, June 29, and September 28. You will also discover that our pastured free-range hens’ eggs are better than anything you’ll find in the store! You won’t have to worry about hormones and antibiotics when you purchase our livestock and products.

We want to serve you only that which we would also enjoy eating. We believe you'll enjoy natural more than ever before when you also know that you're buying local, supporting local farms, and building lasting relationships that benefit everyone involved. Thank you for supporting your local farmers!

We direct market our products using pre-orders for meat birds and lamb and beef. Chicken broilers are set for on-farm site pick-up but we do sometimes offer delivery meeting sites for additional fees.

Our location in southwest Missouri makes us within an hour's drive from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas too!

Janzen Family Farms produces 100% grass-fed beef from Angus adapted to the region. We raise them to meet or exceed criteria established by the USDA for the “grass (forage) fed marketing claim standard.” Our 100% grass-fed Angus are pastured every day. They are hormone-free; vaccines and potential medications are kept to a bare minimum. We reserve the use of antibiotics for special cases. They are slaughtered at a small, state-inspected, family-run meat locker near the farm.

We are moving toward more sustainability: Our cropland is now certified organic and our virgin prairie was certified organic in 2008 by the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture. We use crop rotation, cover crops, organic fertilizer, rotational grazing, careful water management. We freshly stone-mill certified organic wheat on site.

To maintain financial viability, we also use our pre-existing conventional cattle-feeding facilities. Feedlot manure is used as fertilizer in our soil-building program. We keep our conventional cattle strictly separated from our direct-marketed 100% grass-fed animals.

You can purchase by the cut, in discounted “packs,” or in bulk. You can pick up, or we deliver in the Newton, Wichita, Emporia, Topeka and Lawrence areas. We sell at farmers markets and retailers.

jjjmgrassfedbeef.com, located near Truman Lake in West Central Missouri, is owned and operated by 3rd and 4th generation family farmers. After the Civil War, both Union and Confederate soldiers settled the countryside and area became known as "Golden Valley." Soft rolling hills and spring-fed creeks blended into large parcels of un-treed, open farmland in the Grand River Basin. John Jurgensmeyer and his fraternal twin Ben purchased their property near Melrose, MO in 1919. Today John's grandchildren and great-grandchildren operate the family farm that has been Certified Organic since 1997.

We primarily raise Angus and Hereford for their superior marbling characteristics. Our grass fed natural beef cattle forage on continually rotated fresh pastures, and never receive synthetic growth hormones. Our protocol is to never use any antibiotics unless absolutely necessary for the animal's health and welfare. Our pastures are never treated with artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. We cut and bale our own red clover, lespedeza, fescue and orchard grass hay into those big round bales we roll out in winter.

We have animals available year round and offer either Quarter, Half, or Whole Beef. Our beef is processed in a small, family-owned USDA inspected facility and is dry-aged for a minimum of 14–21 days. It is then cut into ground beef, steaks, roasts, brisket, and soup bones for those who want a healthy cut of beef on hand when they need it.

We are committed to providing 100% pure grass fed beef that our customers can feel good about feeding to their families. We like to think of our customers as friends and partners, and we want you to feel comfortable about buying your meat from someone you know and trust.

Judy’s Soy-Free Organically Grown Eggs raises Red Star chickens that lay dark brown eggs. They live on a small property in Sedan KS where they are free to roam when the sun is up and are locked up in coop at night to keep safe while asleep. They eat anything in the yard and I feed them half a cup each everyday of certified soy-free organic chicken feed. They also get fresh kefir every day and any organic scraps I have.

I began growing chickens this way because my daughter is allergic to soy and wheat and must eat organic. Even store-bought organic made her sick, but she can eat these. They have dark yellow to orange yolks, firm shells, and hard whites.

Give us a call and we'll take care of your soy-free organic Eggy needs.

Besides the foraging they also have access to antibiotic-free chicken feed. The eggs are brown, blue, and green and are sold by the dozen.

We are a grower of all natural grass-fed and grass-finished Belted Galloway Beef. Belted Galloway are one of the oldest breeds of cattle and have the least amount of backfat, next to the Buffalo. All our animals are raised on rich legume pastures with no grain, fresh water and are managed humanely and with low stress at all times. Our cattle are not given growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, or antibiotics and our farm follows organic procedures, we are looking into certification but are not certified at present.

We have animals available year round and offer either a half or whole beef, and always have premium beltie hamburger available for purchase. Our animals are ready for processing around 24 months of age and are generally dry aged for up to 21 days. All processing is USDA inspected. The MJ Ranch is a 520 acre ranch that produces 100% grass fed/finished natural Angus beef. Cattle are raised using humane, sustainable farming practices with no synthetic pesticides or herbicides used on pastures. Cattle are rotated on lush green pastures during the summer and our own high quality brome and alfalfa hay is rolled out on the pastures during the winter months—thus our beeves are never confined in a feedlot. They are given no growth hormones or antibiotics.

Health benefits of grass fed beef are awesome! It is low in saturated fat (comparable to bison) and high in Omega 3's, CLA, Vitamin A and E, Beta Carotene, etc. Check it out! This nutritious beef can be purchased at the Community Mercantile in Lawrence.

We personally sell sides from June through December, by hanging weight. Orders are taken by phone year-round to assure beef availability.

Gourmet ground beef is available all year directly from the ranch. Free delivery, at a central location, in Lawrence once a month—with orders of 10 pounds or more! We take a young market steer, keep out only the loin and rib, and grind the rest into deluxe hamburger. Call, See, and Taste!.

Moore Ranch is a family ranch in Southwest Kansas which produces grass-fed longhorn beef, pastured poultry, and eggs.

Our longhorn cattle are grazed out on the ranch grasses which Mother Natures supplies. They are not fed any hormones, chemicals or low-level antibiotics. Longhorn beef has been studied by Texas A&M and found to be lower in saturated fats than other breeds. The flavorful longhorn beef also has less cholesterol and calories than chicken. Halves, split halves and other meat are available.

Our youngest son, Laramie, raises chickens, eggs and honey. The broilers are pasture fed. Broilers are available at the ranch as well as eggs from his hens which run freely around the ranch barnyard and nearby grasslands.

We are very cognizant of the effect our livestock have on the environment and strive to work with the resources available at the ranch to bring you the best product. Our main goal is to maintain an ecosystem which supports not only the livestock but the prairie, wild animals, air, water and soil as well.

Visitors are welcome to visit and see how we use rotational grazing to enhance the cattle as well as wildlife, rangeland, and the surrounding environment.

Oak Creek Bison raises and sells grassfed American Bison.

Our animals graze year round on the same native grasses that bison have lived on for centuries. In the winter months, their feed is supplemented with native prairie hay and alfalfa cubes. The animals are given NO growth hormones or drugs. Parasite control is obtained by using diatomaceous earth administered in the alfalfa cubes.

In addition to the traditional cuts of meat, we also have available a chopped and formed 100% grassfed Bison Jerky, which does not require refrigeration. Bison skulls and hides are also available.

Omega Beef. Amanda and I took an interest in food quality in 2002 when our daughter Anna was a baby—and we continue to learn every day. From the Westin A. Price Foundation to the chefs who love the art of the meal, we have learned about the beauty of food from farm to table.

As lovers of beef, growing our own is a real passion. Early on, the idea of "grass-only" beef was something I hoped to avoid—I just didn't like it! For years, we connected with ranches in Kansas and Missouri but often found the "grass-only" beef to be dry, tough, or just tasting bad. I was convinced they needed grain.

So, we started to experiment with a finishing method to raise the Omega-3 fatty acids and balance the whole lipid profile of the beef. We used corn and freshly ground flax seed—a method that produced decent tasting beef, but was very expensive, labor intensive, and did not produce the health quality we wanted. As we learned about the tremendous benefits of grass-only fat profiles, CLAs and the other nuanced benefits of happy cows, we set out on our mission: Grow high-quality, great-tasting beef with animals that never touch grain.

Well, we believe we have found something special. Our Omega Beef is delicious! The secret was two-fold:

  1. Genetics—animals that have grass-finishing genes, and
  2. Soil/vegetation quality—mineral-balanced soil with high-quality, nutrient-rich grasses and legumes.

First: the genetics. Our steers are from a mix of four maternal breeds—Angus, Hereford, Senepol, and Barzona—that are great at turning grass into tender beef.

Second: the beautiful grass. We can't take much credit for the incredible soil composition of the Kansas Flint Hills region—the optimal mineral content creates some of the best grasslands in the world—but we are grateful for this blessing.

So, here's to tender steaks, wonderful beefy roasts, and, of course, delicious grass-fed cheeseburgers!

Our herds are small and supply is limited!

Russell Ranch OK raises purebred Murray Grey and Murray Grey cross cattle. The Murray Grey is known for the important traits of calving ease, feed efficiency, and carcass quality. Murray Grey beef is preferred for its consistent quality and tenderness. We personally guarantee the quality of our beef and strive to produce superior quality grass-fed beef.

We make every effort to finish out our animals on native pastures. However, we do feed purchased feed if the forage is deficient because of drought, ice storms, etc. We have a smaller place (50 acres) in NE Oklahoma and keep a small herd of around 25 grown cows. Although we have excellent pastures, we feed hay and COB (corn, oats, and barley) when the weather is bad to help keep their energy levels up. When we feed COB, we only feed a few days and only while the weather is severe. We feed in troughs and the cows and bull get approximately 25 pounds (half a sack) of feed every 2–3 days.

Our cattle never see a feedlot. Steroids and artificial growth hormones are not used on our cattle. We keep a health record on each animal and if a steer needs antibiotics, they are pulled from our program and sold on another market.

Grass-fed beef has enormous health benefits. Lower in both in overall fat and saturated fat. It also provides more omega-3 fatty acids. Meat from pastured cattle is also up to four times higher in vitamin E and much higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a nutrient associated with lower cancer risk, as well as higher in beta-carotene and lower in calories. Grass-fed beef is one of the healthiest protein sources available.

Our beef is dry-aged a minimum of 14 days. Dry-aging produces unparalleled flavor and tenderness. We sell the entire beef, half or quarter. Beef is processed locally in a small, family-owned facility, where it is prepared, then cut to your specification and vacuum packaged.

We are a small family-owned and operated ranch. All the beef we sell comes from our ranch and we personally care for our land and our livestock. We direct market our products using pre-orders for beef due to the rapid selling out of meat and the limited availability. Please call, write, or email for availability and current pricing.

Skyview Farm and Creamery is a diverse, family-owned farm located on 80 acres approximately 50 miles south of Kansas City. Our goal is to provide healthy, nutritious food for our family and yours. In a society that believes that bigger and faster is the only way to survive, we subscribe to a different philosophy of sustainable agriculture. We believe that happy animals are those living in an environment that allows them to become what their Creator intended. Animals living here are raised naturally, avoiding the use of antibiotics, hormones, growth stimulants or other chemicals.

The dairy cows and goats are the centerpiece of our farm. We produce delicious aged raw milk cheeses made with cow's milk, goat's milk, or a co-mingling of the two. As Kansas state law permits, we also sell fresh raw fluid milk from the farm. We also raise free-range eggs, and from time to time we have whole cow ground beef, pasture raised and whey fed pork, and grass fed lamb.

Stores and Markets: Our cheese is available at The Better Cheddar, Dean and Deluca, Renee Kelly's Local Harvest, The Farmhouse, Sommerset Ridge Vineyard and Winery, Fritz's Smoked Meats, Howard's Organic Market, and HyVee on 135th and Antioch, and Stateline Road in Prairie Village. Twelve Springs Farm is a third generation farm located in Kansas City, Missouri. We raise pastured poultry, pork, and dairy goats.

Our mission is about granting animals their God-given rights, providing high quality food, and reconnecting people with their farmer. Although we do garden and raise produce, our main passion will always be with livestock. We believe animals raised on pasture, in the sun, produce eggs, meat and dairy higher in vitamins and minerals. Our animals never receive hormones, steroids or unnecessary antibiotics.

Our poultry are housed only at night, and during extreme inclement weather. The ducks and geese enjoy swimming in baby pools, while the turkeys and chickens chase bugs. Our pastured pigs are raised exclusively outdoors and are fed a non-gmo feed ration. They enjoy mud wallows, black walnuts, and apples from the orchard. Our dairy goats are fed a small grain allotment while in milk, and we practice milk sharing so our does always get to raise a kid. In addition to raising livestock, we also produce handmade soaps, and scented tarts made out of tallow.

Our pastured pork is processed at a facility that is both USDA inspected as well as audited by two third-party organizations. We want to ensure our pigs are treated with care from start to finish. We sell our pork by the quarter, half and whole, along with by the cut and in sampler packs in case you want a bit of variety.

As a small farm we have limited availability on some of our products. Please check our website to see what’s currently available, to learn more about us and our animals. If you have any questions, we are just a call or e-mail away.
