The following farms and ranches have certified that they meet Eatwild's criteria for producing grassfed meat, eggs and dairy products. Contact them directly for additional information or to buy their products:

Arbutus Hill Farm offers naturally raised meats and organic vegetables. It is 50 acres of fields and forest, a certified Tree Farm. It is a small operation, just me. I have a Masters in Environmental Resource Management so my respect in caring for my land is a major priority. It is my home and sanctuary.

I raise grass-fed beef, and lamb as well as pork. The pigs are fed grain, are on pasture, receive a steady flow of weeds from the garden and cracked corn. I sell meat by the retail cut or families can buy whole or half animals.

I began farming in 1994 at the ripe age of 43 wishing to raise my own food. I have become better at farming over the years and am self-sustaining. Arbutus Hill Farm meats & veggies are carried by several local stores, are featured in two local farmers markets and enjoy a solid repeat customer base.

I sell meat and garlic year round and in 2007 added a greenhouse hoping to extend my growing season. It is a blessing, but also a major learning curve. So this spring I hope to have an early crop of lettuce, spinach, kale.

Brookfield Farm. The Gowdy family at Brookfield Farm has been raising Angus cross cattle since 1994. Our cattle are finished on our own grass—mixed legume pastures and/or forage that we make ourselves. We are certified organic and are convinced that our cattle are happier and healthier than ever before.

We bought our first cow-calf pairs on our honeymoon trip along the New Hampshire seacoast about 15 years ago, and finally moved to Cheshire County about 10 years ago, from near Boston. We brought five brood cows and their heifers with us. We have slowly been saving our best heifers as replacements. Now we maintain a cow herd of about 20 cows, their calves, and some yearlings and feeders.

We sell our beef a variety of ways: by the side or quarter, individual packages, and/or small orders ranging from 50 to 100 pounds. We also sell our meat at the Farmers Market in Bellows Falls, Vermont.

We invite you to contact us if you are interested in high quality, grass fed and organically grown beef. Please call, leave a message, or contact us via e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you.

At Green Ledge Farm we specialize in certified organic grass-fed beef from our herd of Belted Galloway cattle. Both our herd and our hayfields are certified organic by the State of New Hampshire Dept. of Agriculture. This guarantees that our animals are never given antibiotics, growth hormones or other pharmaceuticals. We do not use chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides on our fields or on our animals. Our cattle are 100% grass-fed on rotationally grazed organic fields in pasture season and fed 100% certified organic hay in winter.

Belted Galloways are an important heritage breed meant to live outdoors. Thick fur coats mean they choose our accessible shelters only in the worst weather. Fresh air and the great outdoors keep our animals robust, happy and healthy. The genetics of our beef animals is a key to producing an animal that finishes well on grass alone.

We sell our certified organic grass-fed beef as retail cuts from the farm year round and at the Peterborough (NH) Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays from 3-6 PM during the summer (May-Sept). We also sell organic pasture-raised broiler chicken (when available). Farm visitors are encouraged. Call ahead to make sure we’re available and check our inventory.

Please visit our website for more information.

Rocky Meadow Farm is the home of a small herd of solid color Galloways. We provide grass fed, grass-finished beef raised in an animal friendly environment, free of hormones, artificial food additives, animal byproducts, or unnecessary antibiotics. Our animals graze exclusively on our own pastures, which we have planted ourselves with a seed mixture to provide optimal nutrition.

The meat is processed at an USDA-inspected plant, and is sold by whole carcass or sides, where customers can specify preferred meat cut selection or by smaller mixed boxes of various cuts.

Steve Normanton Beef. I am from South Africa, where I worked in the livestock trade the conventional, agribusiness way. Then I traveled the world looking for a better way, and found it here in New England, where I learned about sustainable farming and holistic principles.

I now  raise 100% grass-fed beef on 65 acres of prime, river-bottom farmland on the banks of the Merrimack River. My cattle have never tasted soy, corn, corn silage, brewer’s grain, or any other kind of concentrated grain. I do not even use grain for “handling” them. In the spring, summer, and fall I rotate my cattle every day to a new paddock of fresh pasture. In the winter, I feed them dry and wrapped round bales of hay. I do not treat my cattle with hormones or antibiotics. My pastures are certified organic by the State of New Hampshire. This holistic management system is healthy for the animals, for the soil, for the environment, and for society.

All my beef is USDA-inspected and flash-frozen. I sell year-round, either in bulk or by the cut. Please visit my web site for current pricing, ordering, and delivery information, as well as for recipes and for farm news.

Walpole Valley Farms is a pasture-based, multi-generational family farm nestled in the fertile Connecticut River Valley of southwest New Hampshire. We raise 100% grass-fed & finished beef, pastured chickens, turkeys, woodland pork, cashmere goats, heirloom vegetables and eggs from pastured hens. We also have a bed & breakfast, (The Inn at Valley Farms) where we welcome families to come stay and learn about sustainable farming.

We use holistic, sustainable farming practices. Our animals are management intensively grazed, meaning they are moved daily on a yearly rotation. Cattle only consume grass, hay and minerals that we provide, nothing else. In addition to pasture, we feed all of the other animals non-GMO grain from a local family farm and add to it vital minerals and nutrients for a complete, healthy ration.

We sell our products year-round directly to customers at our bed & breakfast, by appointment. We also have multiple harvest (pick-up) dates when you can pick up fresh pastured poultry on the farm. Our pastured eggs are available at the Walpole Grocery in Walpole, NH and at Blueberry Fields in Keene, NH.

We welcome you to come and see our farm. We love to talk about food, farming, and strengthening our local food economy. See you soon!
