Lone Oak Farm is unlike traditional cattle
farms in that Pat Hankins has a tremendous passion for the “process” of
farming. With more than 20 years of farming experience on very large
farms, he decided to take a different approach.
Pat's vision for Lone Oak Farm is one of purism.
He is raising 100% grass fed Tennessee beef in a strict organic
(not certified) environment. His cattle are inoculated for normal bovine
maladies, but NO antibiotics are used. He NEVER uses hormone supplements,
NOR do his animals receive animal by-product feed. NO chemical insecticides
or chemical worming medicines are used.
Depending on the season, Pat has a variety of cuts
of meat available. Because Lone Oak Farm is smaller in scale than most
farms, we do not ship our beef. We feel that shipping all around the
country we would be destroying the very environment that we are trying
to preserve. We make local deliveries or you may pick up directly
from the butcher.
Pat Hankins is passionate about sharing the environmental
and health benefits of raising and consuming grass-fed beef. To learn
more, visit our website.
For Sale: Three grass-fed heifers between the
ages of 7 and 9 months. All are from our Barzona bull and crossed
with either our South Poll or Black Angus cows. All three are red;
two have some white on their face and are from bloodlines that will
finish on grass. These females can be used for breeding or processing.
Asking price is $800 each.

Lynchburg Pasture Fed Beef raises cattle
on 325 acres of pasture in the beautiful hills of Moore County, Tennessee.
Cattle graze only grass and clover—no grain, antibiotics, growth
hormones, implants, or feedlots.
We sell whole, halves and quarters of beef.
We keep a limited supply of beef in our freezers for direct retail purchase.
Beef is processed in a USDA-inspected facility, and the meat is packaged
under our own USDA-approved label. For advance orders of a whole beef,
we can have it processed in a non-USDA facility at significantly lower
cost. We do not ship beef, but are willing to deliver it to most
of Middle Tennessee and northern Alabama.
We employ sustainable agriculture and environmentally
friendly practices, including rotational grazing, fencing cattle away
from creeks and ponds, gravity flow watering systems from natural springs
and ponds, establishing clover in pastures, and nearly year-round grazing. The
small amount of hay we feed is produced here. We are not certified organic,
but have received an award for our conservation efforts from
the National Resource Conservation Service.
Visitors are welcome. Some of our cows have authentic
Swiss cow bells, and it is a relaxing musical sound! Lynchburg is the
home of the Jack Daniel Distillery, the oldest registered distillery
in the USA.

Rolling Hills Farm is dedicated to make
sure our processes are natural and sustainable. We do not feed our
animals antibiotics or use any growth hormones. Our animals enjoy the
sunshine and fresh air, they have fresh natural spring water to drink
and fresh pastures to roam.
We currently offer beef by the side, split
side, or sampler package. The beef is vacuum-sealed and frozen at our
local USDA inspected processor. Your meat can be picked up at the farm
or we can ship up to a 150 mile radius. We also have eggs available
for farm pick up only.
Just like our grandparents, we raise our animals
in a humane method that allows them to enjoy being exactly what they
are. If God put them on the earth to graze in tall fresh grass, they
will graze in tall fresh grass. If they were meant to dig up roots and
tubers and enjoy acorns and chestnuts, that is the environment we try
to provide. They may enjoy dust baths, eating bugs and fresh shoots of
grass. You will be confident of the wisdom of this approach once you
try our fresh pastured eggs or beef.

The Sanders Farm is located in the foothills
of Clinch Mountain in upper east Tennessee, close to neighboring Kentucky,
Virginia and North Carolina. We have tended a small beef cow/calf
herd at our family farm since 1979.
We have kept our pasture and hayfields herbicide
and pesticide-free for those 30 years. We use no antibiotics, pesticides
or growth stimulants of any kind on any animal to be sold on Eatwild.
Flies are kept under control with a walk-through fly trap. The calves
I am selling eat only our own pasture and hay and mother's milk. They
are always free-ranging with their mothers and the rest of the closed
herd until the day they are processed.
I prefer to sell my calves whole in the late Spring
or Fall. Hanging weight is around 300 pounds and take-home meat averages
200 pounds. I deliver your calf to a local butcher and you pick up your
frozen meat there. You decide how long you want your meat aged and how
you want it cut and packaged. My price is $2.50 per pound of hanging
weight and the butcher charges around $.40 per pound based on hanging
weight.
I also at times have milk and grass-finished beef
by the package. It is USDA inspected and weighed, vacuum-packed and frozen.
I will email you a price list. Pickup for this meat would be in the Rogersville,
TN area.
We would rather sell our beef calves to individuals
who want untainted beef than into the feedlot industry where they live
a little longer but in an unnatural and highly stressful way.

Shady Grove Farm is located in rural east
TN at the edge of the Cumberland Plateau west of Knoxville. We are
a small family farm with 80 acres of pasture and woods. We also manage
two adjacent parcels for grazing. We offer grass-fed beef, grass-fed lamb,
pastured poultry, and free-range eggs.
We began farming with the intent to raise our own
foods products to know first hand the origin and health of our meats.
We enjoyed the food and farming so much that we began offering our meats
to family and then friends. Since then our customer base has continued
to grow by word of mouth until this year when we expanded through advertising.
We only sell what we ourselves would eat.
Our animals are moved twice daily to new pasture
using management intensive grazing techniques. These techniques allow
more evenly distributed fertilization, long rest times before re-grazing,
and help in the healing of the land. Healthy land produces healthy food
which in turns produces healthy people.
Feeds for our animals consist of grasses, hay, and
minerals for the cattle and sheep. The poultry receive only natural grain
based feeds along with what nature provides in the way of grasses/greens,
seeds, and bugs.
"Local" is the key to knowing where your
food comes from and how it is raised. The majority of our customers
are within a 200 mile radius ranging from Knoxville to Cookville and
as far south as Chattanooga.
We welcome visitors to our farm to observe first
hand how a healthy farm is managed. Come for a visit.

The Top of the World Farm is
the Sanders Family. Our parents had seven children and six of us are
still here, directly involved on the farm everyday. There are now more
than eight of us, and most of the time we number around fifteen farmers
from ages 50+ down to 2 months old.
We raise Scotch Highland cattle, Khatadin sheep,
and Tamworth cross pigs, which we offer for sale in quarters (for beef only),
halves, and wholes.
We feed our cattle and sheep nothing but the fresh
grass and hay that our 65 acres offer. Some of our pigs share a grass
diet with the cows and sheep, but most spend their time in the woods
rooting for nuts. We feed these latter pigs locally grown corn every
day.
We give our animals no hormones, steroids, antibiotics,
or anything else unnatural. We would only give antibiotics in an acute
situation where antibiotics were necessary to save an animal's life.
While we have encountered this before, we have never sold the meat from
those animals to the public and don't intend to. We supplement our animals'
diets with salt, kelp, and food grade diatomaceous earth.
