Angelic Organics Learning Center is the educational nonprofit partner to Angelic Organics community-supported agriculture farm, a certified organic vegetable farm that follows Biodynamic principles. In recent years, the Learning Center has expanded its pasture-based livestock program and is selling high quality meat. The Learning Center raises and sells pasture-raised Scottish Highland beef, pork, chicken, and goat.
Our pastured animals are raised outdoors with free access to pasture, sunshine, fresh air, clean water, and shelter. We raise all our own hay on farm. We use no grains for ruminants (with the exception of our dairy goats who, during lactation, receive up to one pound daily of certified organic soy-free grain), no hormones, no antibiotics, and no soy. Goats are available in July and all other cuts are available for reservation in the spring, and pickups start in early December.
Our pastured meats are ‘transitional’ organic (i.e., not yet certified).
Our goats and chickens are for on-farm pick-up only and beef and pork are available for pick-up at a family-owned meat processor in Seward, IL, that services small farms in our area. We do not ship or deliver.

Babb Creek Grassfed Red Angus is your small family farm close to Madison, Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells. We offer reasonably priced beef, for local pickup, by the pound hanging weight, in whole, halves, and mixed quarters. We meet organic standards.
Our price for 2013=$3.39/lb. hanging weight, plus butchering fee of about 51 cents per pound for cut wrap and freeze plus a prorated portion of the $90 slaughter fee. Animals are processed locally at Straka Meats in Plain, WI, and dry aged 14–21 days. Pickup is from them, available six days a week.
Our beautiful Red Angus cattle are born here in the fall, nurse on their mommas thru the winter as moms are fed our own stored mixed grass/legume hay. We no longer wean as we let nature take its course. They are on smaller pastures for winter feeding then turned out to green pastures by April and rotationally grazed on 11–15 lush green pastures thru October. Free choice kelp (mineral) and salt. Each pasture has fresh water (they're not allowed in the creek). We fertilize with our own manure and wood ash from the Ukrainian stove that heats our house. We use Natural oil soap for fly/lice control.
Grass-fed beef take longer to 'finish' than corn-fed feedlot beef and are usually ready by the end of their second season on pasture. They are definitely worth the wait as their meat is higher in Omega 3s, Vitamins A, D, E, B-12, folate and carotene. There is no risk of Mad Cow Disease because they are fed no animal by-products. Grass-fed beef also have about 300 times less E. coli bacteria, and because it is not acid resistant due to corn feeding, the bacteria are destroyed more readily in our stomachs, for a cleaner, safer product.
We use no pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones or vaccines. We feed no corn or grains to finish, instead waiting for the animals to mature and naturally add marbling to their meat, preferring a tender, tasty, well marbled, aged product, to the 18 month old, lean, i.e., tough grass fed standard.

At Kummrow Farm's Battle Creek Beef &
Bison LLC, we breed and raise both American Bison and Simmental Beef on
our fifth generation farm located in Waukesha County. These hearty

calving, are wonderful mothers and produce lean, flavorful meat. All
breeding, in both herds, takes place naturally, in the pasture.
We have an on-farm store where we sell beef and
bison by the cut, any quantity desired, as well as an assortment of
100% beef and 100% bison sausages. Our sausages are made MSG-free.
Our store is open Thursday and Friday 1PM to

We raise our animals on homegrown grass and hay,
grown without chemical herbicides or pesticides. We use natural substances
such as fish and seaweed sprays to fertilize our fields. No hormones
are ever used in raising our animals. Antibiotics are given only to
save the life of an animal…a very rare occurrence. The only grain
our animals get is for training and baiting purposes.
Our meat is processed and frozen in a state inspected
plant after undergoing a period of aging for ultimate flavor. Custom
cutting is available when ordering a split side.

Blackberry Ridge, LLC Eco-Farm & Ranch is
owned and operated by one small family. We started five years
ago to create a Bio-diverse, Biodynamic, Organic, Sustainable,
and Permiculture Eco-system—a self-contained farm where
the animals fertilize the land and the resulting living soil
and grasslands feed the animals.
We have introduced eight different animal species
to roam our land. Many are Heritage or endangered breeds. These include:
100% GrassFed Galloway Cattle and Sheep (fiber, meat, and milk);
Free-Range, Pastured Hogs, Chickens, and Turkeys; Horses;
and Great Pyrenees guard Dogs.
As members of the Cherokee Tribe, we work in Harmony
with the wildlife in our woods to increase wild habitat and bio-diversity.
We have encouraged the re-growth of native vegetation, and will add more
diverse plants each year, creating a permiculture. The animals have opportunity
to eat the foods they would eat in the wild, while finding the most pure,
Certified Organic sources for any feed we must give. We feed NO Grain
to our Beef and Lamb!
NO ANTIBIOTICS, ANTIPARISITES, ADDED HORMONES, PESTICIDES,
HERBICIDES, or ARTIFICIAL FERTILIZERS
Optimum health is achieved by humane treatment (we
don’t ‘cut’ our animals), fresh grass, herbs, sunshine
and air, and a reliance on nature before we intervene. We believe this
creates optimum nourishment in the foods that we nourish ourselves with
and optimum life in the environment we live in.
Galloway beef rated #1 in taste and #2 in tenderness
by UW tests. It is USDA processed and dry aged for 18 days by a small
family butcher, then cut and froze individually. Purchase our meats at

Brass Family Farm: 100% Grass-fed Red Devon Beef
OUR PHILOSOPHY: We believe farmers have an exceptionally important calling: To grow and raise the most healthy, nutrient-dense food possible so that current and future generations can thrive and be nourished.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES: We are not in the commodity beef business. We are in the food production business and are directly responsible for the health, intelligence, and longevity of the consumer. We refuse to compromise our convictions for the almighty dollar. Sadly, not every farmer or business shares in this philosophy.
OUR FAMILY: We are a 4th generation family farm located 5 miles Southwest of Rockford, IL. near Stillman Valley, IL.
OUR CATTLE: We raise Red Devon cattle. Red Devon cattle are one of the oldest heritage beef breeds in existence today. They are the breed that the Pilgrims chose to bring with them to America in 1623. George Washington also owned a herd of Red Devon cattle. Devon grass-fed beef has a particularly rich and robust flavor that is juicy and fine-textured.
OUR FARMING PRACTICES: Our herd is 100% grass-fed. They never receive grain. Our cattle are born on our farm and spend their entire lives on pasture. During the growing season, our herd is moved once a day to a new “salad bar” slice of pasture. During the dormant season, our herd either grazes winter cover crops or is fed grass/alfalfa hay.
Please visit our website for more information about our farm and our 100% grass-fed beef.
What we offer your family is the same meat we feed to our family. You get the very best of what our labors produce. Put another way, we won’t ever sell you something we wouldn’t happily eat ourselves.

Bull's Ranch, LLC is a small farm run by Greg and Jeannie Bull, specializing in truly 100% grass fed and grass finished Galloway beef. We practice holistic, organic methods for raising our cattle, always adhering to 100% grass fed practices. Our cattle receive our own hay grown on our own land. We never use any chemical sprays; never supplement or finish off with grains. You get real 100% grass fed beef when you purchase from our farm.
We have a small herd of black and red Heritage Galloway cattle with some Angus cross animals. We keep our animals as chemical free as possible, utilizing only redmond salt, natural kelp, organic minerals and raw apple cider vinegar for supplements. Our meat animals are not given any inoculations, antibiotics or growth hormones. We let them grown as nature intended – slowly, on grassy pastures utilizing rotational grazing, never in a feedlot. We raise all our cattle from birth to butcher.
Galloway cattle originated in the hills of Scotland, a heritage breed with a double coat of hair. Their wonderful, naturally lean meat has exceptional flavor, excelling for 100% grass fed farms. We began raising Galloway cattle in 2007 because we wanted a meat free from chemicals and GMO grains that we felt safe to consume.
We have strong beliefs in caring properly for the animals God put on this earth for us, giving them a comfortable environment in which to live out their lives. We practice this humane care for all of our animals.
We currently sell our beef directly from our farm, by the 25-pound variety box; this includes steaks, roasts, and ground beef; or ground beef by the pound in any amount. Processing is done by Straka's, a state-certified, USDA-inspected plant with the Animal Welfare Approval seal. Dry aged about 12 days.
Please visit our website for more information and 2016 prices. I can also give you amazing cooking tips for burgers that'll make you cry they are so good, plus gourmet steak au poivre that would rival a New York City chef's!
Our naturally lean Galloway beef has outstanding flavor and is safe for those looking for hormone-free beef. You are what you eat, so let your food be your medicine lest medicine be your food!

Coulee View Family Farm is a small
family farm nestled in the steep terrain of the Coulee Region
of southwestern Wisconsin. Our farm is a family operation
where we all pitch in. Our animals are either free ranged,
day ranged or moved in portable pens. We do not routinely
use antibiotics, hormones or appetite stimulants. We treat
our animals respectfully and humanely.
Cornish Cross Broilers are fast growing
and processed between six and eight weeks. The fast growth makes them
ineligible for the Animal Welfare Approved program so we will discontinue.
Medium-Growth Broilers are processed between
eight and ten weeks. They have large breast meat and flavor slightly
superior to Cornish.
Slow-Growth Broilers are processed between
ten and twelve weeks. They forage better, grow slower and have a superior
taste that our grandparents would recognize as chicken.
Pastured Eggs are from pastured hens which
results in a healthier, better tasting egg.
Pastured Heritage Turkeys are available in
November for your Thanksgiving dinner.
Pastured Pork is available as whole, half
or quarter hogs and by the cut.
Limited Availability Meats: a limited supply
of duck, goose and lamb is available.
Potential Future Offering: include Chevron (goat), Pheasant,
and Guinea Hen.
We have recently announced the Coulee View Family
Farm Meat CSA. Our CSA is available in full, half, or quarter shares
for 6 or 13 months duration, and can be joined at any time of the year.

Dominion Valley Farm provides
grass-fed beef, pastured poultry and pork.
Our Galloway beef herd is raised on pasture (grass
and legumes) during the growing season, and hay in the winter without
growth hormones. Truly a tasty, lean, healthy meat! Pastured poultry
includes chickens, turkeys and ducks. All are raised in
bottomless, movable pens that allow them ample pasture, sunlight, fresh
air and bedding.
We grind and mix our own feed biweekly to provide
the birds with fresh antibiotic-free food. Turkeys and ducks are fenced
in large paddocks that are rotated regularly to satisfy their grazing
appetites. Birds are processed in a family-run, state inspected plant.
Pastured pork is also raised without antibiotics
or hormones in the great outdoors. Pigs are allowed to forage, root and
wallow the way they should. This pork is truly delicious meat.

Double Drumlin Farm is a 100% grass-fed, Pinzgauer cow-calf beef operation located about 15 miles southeast of Fond du Lac, WI. Our family farm was founded in 1946 and remains in the same family today. We chose the Pinzgauer breed because they do extremely well on a grass diet, have a gentle temperament, have great maternal instincts, and produce lean, flavorful beef.
The cows and steers are pasture-raised using a rotational grazing method. They graze on a mixture of clovers, alfalfa, and a variety of grasses. The steers are finished on a diet of fermented barley forage that is grown here on the farm during the summer months. During the winter months the animals are fed 100% hay that is grown and stored on the farm. We grow all our crops and raise all the animals without the input of any chemicals, growth hormones or grains.
Beef is processed by a local abattoir and is sold in quarter, half or whole amounts by hanging weight. Orders can be processed to your liking.
We employ a philosophy in the care of our animals with good stewardship of our land and the environment having the highest priority. Our practice reflects our Christian beliefs that caring for our animals and using natural resources wisely is our God-given responsibility.

Gifts From the Good
Earth is a MOSA-certified organic farm offering
certified organic, pasture- raised poultry and organically
raised grassfed/grass-finished Belted Galloway beef.
Our poultry is fed a certified organic feed
ration supplemented with pasture grasses. Our birds, averaging 5 pounds
in weight, are processed at a USDA-inspected plant and sold as frozen,
whole birds. This allows us to have them available for our customers
year-round.
Our beef, which is processed June – November,
can be purchased as individual cuts year-round, or in quarter, half or
whole animal quantities when ordered in advance of our processing dates.
Except for during the winter months, when our beef
herd is fed dry hay made on our farm, our animals are grazed in an Intensive
Rotational Grazing system. This ensures that they eat primarily from
lush, tender pastures, which are grown from soils receiving only natural
amendments such as compost, green manures and minerals. Because of this,
you will find our meats to be a more pure, fresh and flavorful product.
Our farm, which is approximately 2 miles west of
Milladore, is centrally located between Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wausau,
and Wisconsin Rapids. We welcome farm visits if scheduled in advance.

Golden Bear Farm raises 100% grass-fed beef,
and Berkshire pork, intensively grazed on organic
pastures certified by Global Organic Alliance.
In addition to grasses and legumes, our pigs are
fed apples, vegetables, barley, and oat & pea balage. We never dock
tails or ring noses. All of our animals have plenty of fresh, deep-well
water, fresh air, sunshine and room to move around. In the spring, summer
and fall they live outdoors with access to natural shelter within the
trees and bushes. During the winter our cattle are heavily bedded behind
a wind block and the pigs have access to the barn and barnyard.
We never feed or treat our animals with any artificial
substances including GMO’s, antibiotics or hormones. We never use
herbicides, fungicides or pesticides on our farm.
We practice sustainable farming to promote a healthy
environment for all living creatures. Visit our website (which includes
a short video) to see why we and our animals love living here.
We sell ¼’s, ½’s and whole
steers; ½’s and whole pigs cut to order; and selected cuts

Grass Point Farms is a group of
farms whose dairy philosophy centers on the well being of
every cow on all of our farms. All of our farmers have pledged
to take every measure to ensure that their herds are humanely
treated at each stage of their life and that they are allowed
to thrive on their natural diets of grass while enjoying
their pasture life.
All of our farms and herds meet the third
party certified Grass Point Animal Compassionate and Grass
Fed Program Standards. These stringent standards, which are
unique to Grass Point Farms, require a nutritious pasture
diet without antibiotics or artificial hormones. The animals
are raised humanely in conditions that support natural animal
behavior.
At Grass Point Farms we offer a very
special line of milk, cheese and butter products.
It is this diet that produces the purest, most wholesome
milk possible. Studies have shown that grass fed dairy products
have increased levels of CLA and Vitamin D (because the cows
get outside), which helps reduce body fat, increases metabolism,
combats clogged arteries, prevents or delays the onset of
diabetes and fights certain cancers.

Grassroots Meat, located in River
Falls, WI, just minutes from the Twin Cities Metropolitan
area, offers 100% grass-fed beef and pastured poultry.
Our herd consists of Galloway cattle, a Scottish
breed, ideal for pasture grazing in the cold Wisconsin climate.
Our cattle receive plenty of fresh grass and water, in summer, and
in winter, quality hay that is raised and stored at our farm. Galloway
cattle are not bred to be “oversized;” therefore, they produce
flavorful meat which is healthy with less fat.
We sell our beef in a variety of cuts and quantities
in order to offer our customers a wide selection. Our chickens are allowed
to forage on as much living grasses as they desire. Their diet is supplemented
with grains that are free of artificial hormones and antibiotics. Our
chickens are available in July and August, but we will take pre-orders
in February. They dress out at 3-7 pounds.

The Grassway Farm is a diversified certified
organic (MOSA) grass-based dairy farm located
between cold, clean Lake Michigan and picturesque Lake
Winnebago. In addition to milking 100 dairy cows, we direct
market bulk chicken, turkey, brown eggs, beef and pork.
All of our animals (beef, pork, chicken and turkey)
are fed certified organic feed.
The farm consists of over 200 acres of fresh green
growing meadow grasses. After each milking our herd of jerseys and Holstein
cows takes a leisurely stroll to a new paddock of fresh grass and spends
the day grazing, ruminating and resting. The cows receive only 2-3
pounds of oats or barley, kelp, naturally mined mineral and sea
salt per day to help them maintain body condition.
On our farm, everyone grazes, so the egg-laying
free-range chickens are allowed to dine on juicy bugs, tender grasses
and a small amount of grain. Our pastured meat birds live in moveable,
open bottom pens out on the same pasture. They are protected from predators,
but can still enjoy the sunshine, bugs and grass. The Jersey steers graze
with the dairy cows to get the very best pasture plus a small amount
of grain. Finally, our "pigerator" pork comes from pigs that
are allowed to do what they truly love to do: root through and compost
the winter bedded pack from the cows.
We would love to hear from you. May you be able
to live close to the land.

Hickory Springs Farm is nestled
in a beautiful picturesque valley with springs flowing from
the hillsides, many coming together to help form Seymour
creek. We have been MOSA certified organic since 1999
for dairy, we started the beef soon after. We also
have brown eggs, and broilers. We like to hatch
our own chicks for our laying chickens so there are occasionally
some very tasty five month old roosters to cull.
Our beef is USDA inspected The closest butcher is
an hour and half drive, Lederburs in Winona, MN. the beef is cryovac
packaged. The organic pasture raised broilers are also USDA inspected
and cryovac packaged at Decorah, Iowa.
We practice rotational grazing, though not intensive.
We don't have to chase our animals—for the most part they follow
us everywhere they want us to put them. The animals are beautiful to
watch and it's so relaxing to take a walk around the pastures to enjoy
them. Even though initially they come running and set up such a chorus
of bawling that you can't hear, they calm down to eating soon. We also
have seasonally asparagus, rhubarb, ramps (wild leeks), and watercress
lot'sa springs. Come for a visit, bring your tents, etc. and camp in
our woods. Several weekends are open. Gary and Darline & children.

The Homestead (a 125-year family
farm) is in the rolling hills of Grant County, Wisconsin.
We converted this dairy farm into a ranch to raise grass-fed beef.
Our cattle are born in late spring on the open range, raised
by the mother cow on chemical-free milk and grass and watered
at a spring-fed stream. Grass-fed beef is often called "beyond
organic."
The average serving of beef has lived on four farms,
traveled through five states, and spent months confined in feed lots
eating things cows were not meant to eat. Our cattle spend their entire
lives on the range, eat lots of grass, have a cool drink and lay in the
shade to think about things. The result is lean, clean, tender and reasonably
priced meat.
Processed in the fall, seven miles from the pasture
at a state-inspected facility. Order a few packages of selected cuts
or quarters, halves or whole animals cut to order. Farm pick-up preferred,
but we'll deliver within reason. No need to pay Farmers' Market premiums
for healthy food. Give us a call. We'd love to meet you and be your farmers.

JRS Country Acres is a small family
owned operation dedicated to protecting the planet with sound,
sustainable agricultural practices. Our farm philosophy is
based on the old time principals: fresh air, sunshine, pasture
and love.
Everything we produce is raised organically without
the aid of genetically altered seed, synthetic chemicals or antibiotics.
As a result, our products are healthy lean and just plain taste better.
All our poultry (laying hens, fryers/broilers,
and heritage turkeys) are pastured raised supplemented with a
minimum amount of organic grains. They are naturally lean yet tender
and tasty. Our eggs have a brilliant orangish-yellow yolk that
looks like sunshine.
Freed from antibiotics and close living conditions,
our pastured raised pigs thrive on fresh air, sunshine, vegetation
and whatever else pigs manage to root up.
We also raise produce, anything from apples
to zucchini. Composted manure and old fashioned hand weeding make the
best tasting produce.
If you are interested in more information about JRS
Country Acres, please call or email us for a brochure, price list, and
availability of our products. You can also find our products at the Lake

Lambsquarters was born in a quiet
way several years ago with a shepherd's heart, a handful
of ewes, and a vision for providing a healthy, wholesome,
and great-tasting product to our local community here in
central Wisconsin. We are located 6 miles north of Athens
on Highway 97, and everyone is welcome to visit the farm
and see how the animals are raised.
While most of our lambs are home-born, occasionally
we do buy some feeders in the spring to better utilize our pastures.
Our lambs start out on their mother's milk and then are moved out to
pasture as soon as the spring grass starts growing. They remain
there until fall, then some are moved to another field where they are
finished on turnips and local hay. Only the lambs finished without the
turnips qualify for listing on Eatwild as only the turnip greens are
allowable. Our goal is to raise the lambs 100% organic, but we are not
certified organic.
The lambs are normally ready in November or
December, and we generally have lamb available through April of the following
year. Quantities are somewhat limited so order early. We usually use
a local processor, but can always take them to the facility of your choice.
We offer lamb as whole, half, or individual cuts.
We look forward to hearing from you. Our goal is
to have 100% customer satisfaction! Here is a testimonial from one
of our local repeat customers: "Your lamb is the best I've ever
had: so tender and juicy, just right. Next year I'm going to buy
five from you!"—Victor, Athens WI.

to buy in bulk, if possible, to save money and ensure your family's year-round
supply of healthy, local meats. Supplies are limited since our herd is
small.

Loony Acres is a family-owned and operated farm in the far NW suburbs of Chicago. We are within a half hour of the Wisconsin border. We farm utilizing sustainable methods but are non-certified organic at this time. We offer pasture-raised poultry, free range eggs and locally grown vegetables.
Our animals are drug-free, meaning we use no growth hormones or antibiotics. Our poultry and eggs are naturally grown and treated humanely. Our pasture-raised chickens and turkeys are happy and receive lots of sunshine, fresh air and plenty of natural food they find in the pasture. They receive certified organic feed 2x per day. We use moveable chicken coops/tractors for shelter and protection. The chicken tractors are moved on a daily basis or more if needed.
Our vegetable produce is grown chemical-free - no pesticides or herbicides are used on our farm. We use certified organic and heirloom seeds and are proponents of seed-saving. We practice crop rotation within the season and for our cover crops.
Our children operate a bake stand and offer a variety of baked goods and homemade organic lemonade.
Currently, we sell our products at our on-site farm stand and through a small vegetable/meat/egg CSA (Consumer Supported Agriculture). Please contact us for product availability and hours of operation.

LoveTree Farmstead Cheese produces
of some of the world's finest and most unique sheep cheese and
dry-aged "European" style grass-fed organic
lamb. LoveTree is organically farmed with 130 acres devoted
to grazing lands and 70 acres to wildlife habitat. This not
only makes for a healthy environment, ecologically speaking,
but it also offers us some unique opportunities for flavor
enhancement of our cave-aged cheeses and our lamb. Our goal
is to bring you the flavor of the northwoods through our
raw milk cave-aged sheep cheese and our succulent grass and
milk-fed lambs.
We milk the sheep seasonally (April–September)
while the grass is green. We only make the raw milk cheeses from the
grass-fed milk. Our market lambs are weaned from their mothers at approximately
45 days and are then reared on whey from the cheeseroom, grass, and sometimes
a minimal amount of corn if we have late pastures or an early winter
(no more than 1/2 pound of corn a day per lamb when or if it is necessary
to feed corn).
What We Grow: Raw milk cave-aged sheep cheeses
and raw milk cave-aged jersey cow milk cheeses (when milk is available);
European style lamb (live weight between 75–90 pounds) June–December;
Hot House lambs (live weight 40–55 pounds) April–May; replacement
stock for sheep dairies; and livestock guardian dogs.
Where We Sell Our Products: St. Paul (MN) Farmers
Market, every Saturday April–December, 7 AM–1 PM.
Winter Market sale days are every other weekend, January–March,
9 AM–12 PM, corner
of 5th & Wall Streets, St. Paul. We also have on farm sales by appointment
only at this time. Web/mail order items include raw milk cave-aged cheese.

Milk & Honey is a suburban farm and cooperative located in Wauconda, IL. We specialize in grass-fed beef, pastured pork, pastured poultry (chickens and turkeys) and eggs, chemical-free produce, and natural lifestyle products.
We want to bring more flavorful and nutritious food to the table. We focus on soil quality and care for our animals in a way that honors them. We are grateful for the food they provide and show our gratitude by raising them as closely as possible to the way nature intended.
Our philosophy is that you are what your food eats. Our animals are pastured, which results in superior taste and higher nutritional content than conventionally-raised meat. Buying directly from our farm removes the middlemen and ensures optimal freshness.
All of our birds have access to the outdoors so they can do what they love most: forage for insects and even small rodents. We raise chickens year-round and turkeys seasonally. Both are naturally omnivorous, and it’s important to us to maintain their natural instincts.
We raise pastured pork year-round. Our pigs have access to the outdoors so they can root, even in the snow. We supplement the foraging of our poultry and pigs with food scraps from our farm and non-GMO feed that is free of animal byproducts.
We raise Scottish Highland pastured beef year-round. Highlanders, well-known for their large horns, are one of the world’s oldest breeds. Their thick, shaggy coats have a wool-like layer. making them well suited for Illinois winters. Grazing on pasture provides them with a happier, stress-free life, creates more nutritious milk for their calves, and healthier meat for us--in at least ten different ways. They receive a mineral supplement, plus apple cider vinegar in their water. We never use antibiotics or hormones.
Although we produce most of the items in our foodshed, we occasionally allow others, such as soap makers and beekeepers, to showcase their products that complement our practices and philosophy.

Mountain Lane Farms, Wauzeka,
WI, is nestled in the hills of Crawford County. It is a place
where time stands eternal. Our Angus cattle graze 80 acres
of rolling pasture in the same way they did when my father
purchased the farm back in 1964. This provides our cattle
with a simple diet of sunshine, legumes, grasses and water.
While a simple approach, we believe this is best for the
animal and ultimately in producing the best beef.
As we are a minute operation, we currently do not
possess the means of rendering our product on site and shipping it direct.
Our philosophy is that when you buy from Mountain Lane Farms, you choose
the animal and witness firsthand where it was raised. You have an opportunity
to voice how you would like the beef prepared, etc. If you wish, we can
ship the animal to you. We have tremendous rendering professionals who
can customize your order. If you wish we can even bring your order right
to your door. We value you not only as a customer, but a new friend before,
during and after the sale.
As a small operation, we don't have all the amenities
of other operations. What we have is a food source that has been raised
naturally by good folks who are concerned more about you than your sale.
Give us a call, get directions and come see Mountain Lane Farms. The
cattle will continue to graze, but friendships are precious. Make friends
at Mountain Lane Farms.

Come for a visit!
We believe in grass based farming because we think it is
best for the people who consume the animals and poultry which
are grown on grass, best for the animals themselves, and
best for the environment.
In rumininating animals, health issues such as acidosis,
liver abscesses, mastitis and parasites are controlled naturally
instead of with antibiotics. The exercise of grazing, fresh
air, sunshine and fresh pastures are the core issues for
good animal health. Rogue proteins which cause mad cow disease
are not found in grasses but in supplements fed to animals
in confinement settings. Sound genetic selection enables
birthing ease, healthy young animals and docility. (Our sheep
and cattle are glad to see us and come when called. Remember
the invitation to come for a visit so you can see this.)
Human beings are the beneficiaries. They eat meat and poultry
from healthy creatures. Grass fed meat is higher in conjugated
linoleic acids and omega 3 acids which are cancer fighters
and weight controllers. Further, there is less total fat
and less saturated fat in grass fed animal products.
The environment benefits. Sequestering of carbon in the soil
occurs, slowing global warming. Reduction of wind and water
erosion occurs. Organic matter increases and nitrate pollution
reduces. Earthworm populations become abundant and soil enzyme
production increases.
We want to be good stewards of the land and of the animals
on the land, and that means grass farming.
We produce beef, lamb and broilers. Turkey and pork raised
by Amish friends are also available.

Odyssey Farm, LLC produces premium pastured pork on our 32-acre farm outside Sun Prairie, WI.
Our farming methods focus on what is best for the animals and ecosystem. We raise our pigs as true to their nature as we can, giving them large paddocks with room to run and a variety of feeds from which to choose. Our Tamworths and Berkshires graze and root in pesticide- and herbicide-free pastures. Their diet includes non-GMO and organic feeds as well as windfall apples and garden leftovers of squash, melons, and brassicas. They do not receive antibiotics.
We move our pigs regularly to give them the freshest pastures while previous paddocks recover. But the pigs’ natural home is in the woods. We let our animals forage woodland paddocks in the fall where they eat acorns and hickory nuts like their wild kin. Doing our best by land and livestock rewards the eater with a redder, richly flavored pork.
We sell whole and half hogs as well as 25-pound variety boxes and individual cuts. On farm sales and visits by appointment.

Pinnacle Pastures Farm has been
in the family for 60+ years. Cody oversees daily management
of the farm which is in organic transition. Animals never
receive hormones or sub-therapeutic levels of antibiotics.
Cody has planted clover / grass pastures as well
as pastures especially for hogs—allowing them
to graze fresh greens and root out turnips as nature intended. Hogs are
bred and fed for exceptional meat flavor and high nutrient density. Piglets
are raised on pasture during the summer and in deep straw bedded
huts in our barn during winter. Very little lard comes with our
finished hogs as they get lots of exercise!
Pinnacle Pastures also offers grass fed Angus cross beef and
Katahdin lamb. These lambs are milder in flavor than standard
sheep breeds. Heritage breeds of turkey, geese, ducks, guineas, and chickens reside
with the beef and hogs who offer protection from predators. Great Pyrenees
guardian dogs offer further protections.
It is a privilege to care for livestock and nurture
their instinctive behaviors. Calves, kids, lambs, piglets, chicks, ducklings,
and goslings are raised by their mothers. Beef and hogs available
by whole, half, bundles, and smaller quantities. Nitrate-free bacon is
available. Visitors are always welcome.

At Rainbow Homestead we
practice sustainable and humane animal husbandry. Beyond
Organic, our holistic approach means farming within Nature's
patterns, with Nature's Rhythms. A place where wildlife flourish
alongside rare breeds of livestock, where heirloom gardens
and orchards nourish us even as hedgerows, woodlands, and
prairies provide haven for all manner of life. Our herbal
meadows provide the ideal diet for our livestock while providing
nesting sites, beneficial habitat, and sweet nectar for our
honeybees. Intentionally "human scale,"
we choose to homestead and husband our land in a way that
promotes harmony and synergy.
Our organic, rotationally grazed pastures burst
with an edible riot of colors and flavors: sunny dandelions, sky blue
chicory, lacy yarrow, sweet scented clovers, and tangy sorrel among the
green grasses. Cold-hardy forages like turnips and canola extend the
forage feast into winter. Humane treatment is important to us: our lambs
keep their beautiful long tails they're born with!
Our lamb and beef are raised using
100 percent forages—NO GRAIN EVER! Our pastured poultry and pork are
raised on high quality pasture in addition to certified organic grain.
100% GRASS FED LAMB and BEEF, PASTURED PORK and
POULTRY available. Customers may purchase at the farm, at the Madison

Sandy Brook Farm was established in 2013, currently operating 230 non-contiguous acres with a beef herd of Red Devon and Belted Galloway, a flock of Katahdin sheep, and three breeds of swine (Tamworth, Red Wattle, and Large Black) as well as poultry. Though we have chosen not to have our animals certified organic, we actively practice these methods and feed our pigs and chickens certified organic grains. Our beef and lamb are grass-raised and grass-finished, never consuming grain. Our hogs and chickens are always pastured and are fed a supplementary ration daily.
Our animals are never given hormones or fed GMOs and we don’t apply herbicides, fungicides or pesticides on our land.
Beef is available by the cut, 1/4, 1/2, or whole animal; Pork by the cut, 1/2 or whole animal; Lamb by the cut or whole animal; and our poultry is sold whole bird. Please call for availability and current pricing.
E-commerce is available on our website for pick up at the homestead or at several of the markets we attend.
We initiated a protein CSA in 2015 and are currently expanding this program each quarter.
We are a small family farm practicing restoration agriculture by reducing tillage, promoting biodiversity and focusing on sustainability from the ground up. We pride ourselves in raising our animals in a humane, stress-free environment.

Shepherd Song Farm. We raise 100% grass-fed lamb and goat meat. We believe pasture-raised is absolutely, without
a doubt, better for the animals, better for the environment, better
for your health...which is better for you! We make a commitment
to you to NOT use pesticides on our land and to use NO animal by-products,
antibiotics or hormones. Our lambs and goats grow naturally on Wisconsin
meadows. The cool northern summers of the upper Midwest produce outstanding
pastures producing premium, lean lamb and goat in a healthy environment.
Our livestock spend their days in the open air and sunshine grazing
our lush, green pastures. Our young stock spend the majority of their
time safe with their mothers within the protective flock learning to
choose from diverse forage. We do not confine our animals to stalls,
on concrete or in feedlots. They routinely carry out their natural behaviors
such as grazing, browsing, lactating and exploring their environment
as appropriate to their species. Quality of life for our animals is one
of our main values.
We are a small family farm. We use sustainable and holistic farming
practices that improve the soil, increase biodiversity, and are beneficial
to our local community's environment. In practice this means what we
take out of the environment we put back in, so land and resources such
as water, soil and fertility can be replenished and are available to
future generations.
Our products are USDA inspected, vacuum-packed for quality, and meet
high standards for freshness, tenderness and flavor. Individual cuts
or family value boxes can be purchased year round. Religious requirements

At Snyder's Valley View Farm we
raise Belted Galloway beef and Katahdin sheep.
All of our animals are raised on natural pasture
during the growing season, and on hay that we grow ourselves during the
winter months. Our calves and lambs are born on pasture in the spring
and are raised on their mother's milk until they are able to graze our
pasture grasses, legumes and forbs. We use no herbicides or pesticides
on our pastures or hayfields, and practice rotational grazing, which
allows the animals to utilize their natural instincts to migrate and
look for the best food supply.
Our animals receive no growth hormones, no antibiotics
in their feed, and a very minimal amount of grain which is used only
for training purposes.
Both Belted Galloway Cattle and Katahdin Sheep are
known for their ability to produce lean, tender, flavorful meat when
raised in a grass based farming system, producing meats that not only
taste very good, but are good for your health as well.
We sell freezer beef by the quarter and half;
it is available at various times throughout the year. Lamb is
sold by the half or whole from December through April. Our meats are
processed by a local state inspected, family run facility, and can be
cut and wrapped to your specifications.

Sonday Produce is a century family farm raising free-range pastured chickens. Our chickens are brooded for three weeks in a natural sun-lighted building. They are then put out to pasture to range and forage in the fresh air. We harvest our birds based on maturity, not on time, so as to provide the most flavorful, quality chicken on the market.
Sonday Produce operates its own on-farm MOSA Certified Organic, state-inspected poultry processing plant and is an “Animal Welfare Approved” facility. No one else touches our chickens but us and you, the consumer. Sonday Produce uses a kosher processing method to provide the highest quality chicken available. We provide all cuts of chickens: wholes, halves, quarters, legs, wings, and boneless breast. Custom cuts and packaging are available at request. All of our product is frozen three times faster than the industry standard in our blast freezers, and vacuum-sealed for the freshest, cleanest product available. Our chicken is available to individual and commercial purchasers and is available all year, and we process from the months of May to November.
We are located three miles west of Waupaca, at the northwest intersection of Highway Q and Highway 54.

Stabat Mater Farms. My name is Matt Cordonnier and I live in West Central Ohio. I started a small-scale farm to raise the best possible food for my family. I wanted to be holistic, organic and teach my kids the life lessons learned on a farm. We’re a small farm and focus on raising our animals morally and ethically.
I decided to not be certified organic since I just sell to people I know.
My beef is mostly Dexter, a breed that does well on pasture. They are 100% grassfed. I do not give them antibiotics, growth hormones or shots.
My hogs (pork) receive certified organic, non-GMO grain. I am passionate about trying to save two endangered breeds: Red Wattles and Large Blacks, both ‘bacon type’ pigs. Commercial farmers avoid them because they put on a lot of fat. Because of this, their meat micro-marbles like beef, is red (pork is not supposed to be the other white meat), and very tender and flavorful. People tell me my pork is the best meat they have ever tasted—it is not really my doing though, it’s the type of pig. Most people don’t know what real pork tastes like. As part of my mission to save these breeds, I sell piglets to other farmers who want high-quality meat for their families. Most of them are new to the organic movement and I love teaching them how to get started.

Summerdale Farms is located in Boone County, IL. We are nestled on beautiful rolling acreage with pastures, orchards, gardens and woods. The original farm was established in 1837. The land is chemical-free, and to our knowledge, has never had herbicides or pesticides applied, ever. We raise grass fed beef and pastured, free-range chickens. We are firmly committed to the utilization of natural farming methods that promote the health of our animals, our land, and our consumers.
We use Management Intensive Grazing techniques to rotate our cattle through lush pastures. The results of these methods produce lean, flavorful meat. The animals are raised in the healthiest, most natural environment possible. All our animals enjoy the pure water from our private well. Our water is free of fluoride, bleach, and chlorine.
The cattle have unlimited access to pastures year round. We grow most of our own alfalfa and grass hay for winter feedings. We do not give them growth hormones, vaccinations, maintenance antibiotics or animal bi-products. The cattle have peaceful lives and are allowed to run together in a herd as nature intended.
Our chickens are also outside, running free in their pastures from dawn to dusk. They spend most of the time pecking and scratching at seeds, plant material and insects. We supplement their diet with Organic and Soy-Free feed. The birds grow slowly over 10 weeks and are quite large, finishing out around 6 pounds. They are processed by a local USDA-approved facility. The meat is absolutely delicious, tender, and succulent.

At Together Farms, we believe in sustainable farming and lovingly caring for all our animals. It seems the more we learn, the more we want to grow our own food. But without you, the customer, our small farm dream could never become a reality.
First, we search for the best-tasting foods we can find - typically means heritage breeds that tend to grow slower than their high-production counterparts where taste and personality are ignored. We raise Tamworth & Large Blacks (swine), Duclair ducks, assorted heritage turkeys, White Park (beef) cattle, Tunis & Leicaster Longwool sheep, and Freedom Ranger meat and other heritage egg chickens.
All of our animals are in managed grazing systems. Things we don’t use on the animals: antibiotics, growth hormones, medicated feed or chemical de-wormers. In our finished products, there are no: nitrates/ites, MSG, preservatives, colorings, etc. Minerals and supplements, you ask? All absolutely natural (e.g., apple cider vinegar) so you know you are getting a nutrient-dense product. If our soils are not healthy, our animals will not be healthy. We are also working towards being totally free from soy-based feeds. [Check out Weston A. Price's Soy Alert page to learn more about soy and why we care.]
We are Certified Naturally Grown and Animal Welfare Approved and we are now out of our 3rd transitional year to be certified organic. We are working toward full certification by the end of 2013. The beef and lamb are 100% grassfed and approved by the American Grassfed Association.
We also offer “S3” Soap - an old-fashioned, cold processed lard soap! We use only all natural ingredients - check out our website or our Etsy page (www.etsy.com/shop/StephsSuperSwineSoaps).
Meat is available in wholes, halves, and CSA shares. Email/call for bundle options, pricing and drop-offs.

Uplands Cheese, Inc. produces
and distributes Pleasant Ridge Reserve, a unique, traditional
style farmstead cheese.
Pleasant Ridge Reserve is an artisan cheese made
from the milk of a single herd of Wisconsin cows fed and managed using
natural "old world" practices. Our cows graze lush pastures
from early spring through fall and we produce cheese only when the cows
are fully on a forage ration of vegetative pasture. Cows are supplemented
with a ground grain mixture comprising 25% of their ration while on pasture.
Pleasant Ridge Reserve is the end product of a process
that is inextricably linked to the seasons and life cycles of our animals,
as well as to the prairie soils and climate of southwest Wisconsin. The
sweet flavors of the pasture grasses, herbs, wildflowers and clovers
is detectable in each morsel of our product. We hope you will try Pleasant
Ridge Reserve and agree with us that producing food slowly, deliberately
and with pride is a value worth preserving in our hurried, industrialized
society.

V D B Farms is a MOSA
Certified Organic family farm owned and managed by
Bob & Beth Van De Boom. Weraise Murray Grey beef cattle,
St. Croix sheep (lamb), pastured poultry and
free range brown egg layers.
The Murray Grey and St. Croix are breeds that have
escaped genetic tampering and have not been modified to a grain based
diet. These breeds are moderate framed, highly fertile, efficient and
grows and finishes well on grass. The St. Croix lamb has a mild flavor
and aroma. Our animals are humanely treated from birth to abattoir. They
are processed at a local government inspected plant with minimal transportation.
We practice management intensive grazing for the
health of the animals and of the land. Our livestock are raised
naturally on fresh pasture directly harvesting the sun's energy to produce
lean, healthy, flavorful meat. Every day of the grazing season the animals
get moved to a fresh paddock. Rotating animals through different pastures
more closely mimics natural migration patterns. Our animals get all the
fresh air and sunshine they want. In the winter they eat quality hay
from our fields. Our animals only eat grass, minerals, salt and water.
Our beef is a available by whole,
half or split half (quarter). Our lamb is available
by whole only. Our meat chickens are available by the
pound. Are eggs are available by the dozen.

Wholesome Harvest is a family farm located in Fort Atkinson, WI serving the large and small communities within and around Southcentral Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Along with our certified organic vegetables, we offer pasture-raised pork and broiler chickens, and our laying hens provide us with certified organic, brown eggs.
Our pastured Red Wattle hogs are free to roam and root around large pasture lands. They are fed only the highest quality organic grains and produce from our farm.
Our Freedom Ranger chickens enjoy all the goodies of the farm. Their chicken tractors allow them safety and protection from the elements while still giving them the much needed space and sunlight to help them thrive. Our chicken tractors are rotated daily to insure that our chickens get fresh greens and ground to forage about in.
We do not use any synthetic hormones, antibiotics, chemicals, etc. for our animals. All pasture land and feed is certified organic. Care is taken to make sure all of our animals and land is managed with the highest quality organic standards.
Our pasture raised turkeys, chickens, and pork can be ordered at any time of the year. Please e-mail us if you are interested in any of our offerings!

Willow Creek Ranch offers farm direct Angus beef,
pork and eggs.
Our farm and beef are certified organic by MOSA.
All of our animals have access to the outdoors 365
days per year as well as adequate shelter when mother nature shows her
harder side. We use no growth hormones or antibiotics.
Our 100% grassfed beef graze freely on one of our six rotating
pastures. Each pasture has its own spring or creek which offers the animals
constant access to fresh water from natural sources. In order to
remain sustainable, we only raise as much livestock as our own land resources
can naturally support.
In order to share the wonderful experience of living
on a farm, we also have a cabin that we rent out. See the "Stay overnight
on the farm" tab on our website for more information and pictures.
