Hillyrock Farm is a small family farm that
direct-markets its natural, grass finished beef in the form
of:
- “Hillyrock Steerburger” ground beef of the whole animal,
including 60% of the prime cuts, and
- Freezer Beef: whole, side and split side of beef that families store
in their freezer for year-round meals.
Hillyrock Farm is operated by Bob and Diane Browning
with support and guidance from master farmer and neighbor, Ralph Warren,
Jr. Hillyrock is located in a savannah in the Greenbrier Valley—the
high and lush valley in the Allegheny Mountain range of West Virginia—on
grassland that is rich in minerals and fed with a mountain spring. The
farm has been in operation for over 200 years and is listed on the National
Register of Historic Places.
Our farm practices for grass finishing cattle rely
on long-standing best practices as well as on adaption to current and
tested agricultural science; fortunately the two most often are the same.
Our cattle are free of growth hormones, antibiotics and are raised
and fattened on grass. We process our meat at a family run abattoir
that is WV Dept. of Agriculture and USDA inspected.
We make weekly deliveries to Charleston, May-October,
and bi-weekly deliveries November-April.

Misty Mountain Farm is 160 acres of rolling hills in Calhoun County, WV. Purchased as a 100-year-old rundown homestead, we are slowly restoring our land naturally. Parting Ridge Farm is a small, family-owned farm located on both sides of the WV/VA border, a little over two hours from WDC. Our farm has been in the family for over 100 years. We provide whole grassfed lamb and grassfed Angus beef by the quarters and halves, as well as both by the cut or box. We have raised quality, healthy beef for a tri-state area for over 28 years.
Large quantities such as halves and quarters or whole lambs may be picked up at our Harrisonburg, VA (near I-81) processor. Smaller quantities may be picked up on the farm. Because we are so far out in the country, we also offer monthly delivery points in larger towns within a two and a half hour radius, as long as there is an acceptable amount of monthly purchases. We have just begun this practice and are currently serving Sterling, VA, outside WDC. Contact us to organize a delivery point in your area to have quality grassfed beef and lamb delivered monthly to your office complex or neighborhood.
As seasoned grassfed farmers, we believe in sustainable agriculture, low-impact farming, streamside fencing and rotational grazing. Kent has been keen on every aspect of grassfed farming since its inception. Our pastures are not certified organic, but looking at the requirements, we feel they would qualify. We supplement our livestock with organic kelp. We use no growth hormones and no antibiotics. Our beeves are raised in lush meadows and extremely remote mountaintops in peaceful, chemical-free conditions. Our lambs are raised on a separate local farm with the same practices. Our animals are treated gently at all times and learn to trust our care. They move gently and peacefully.
We are not looking to be a large company. Our mission is to steadily provide an ongoing quality grassfed beef product throughout the coming years to people like ourselves who believe in a healthy way to live and eat. Thank you for reading our listing. We hope you will choose us for your grassfed needs. Our beef is lean, dark red, simply beautiful, and tastes wonderful. Sarver Heritage Farm is a 3rd generation beef farm on 250 acres of beautiful rolling hills in the Organ Cave area of WV.
This is a ‘forever’ farm, via the Farmland Protection Program. Basically, we’re a couple of hermits who avoid bright lights and buzzwords, off in the highlands raising the best darn beef you’ll ever taste. Our farming practices are featured in an international agricultural magazine and two books devoted to artisanal beef. Our practices, animals, and records are fully documented; we’re real, not buzz. We are what happens when you turn an artist/philosopher and a biology geek/animal lover loose with grandpa’s cattle farm.
If you’re looking for extremely lean grass-fed beef—we can’t help you. Our Angus/Galloway herd produces beautifully marbled, dry aged steaks from fully fat-covered carcasses. Food reviewers swoon over it. From the Artisan Beef Institute: “I’m in hamburger heaven.” From Craig “Meathead” Goldwyn: “…the Platonic ideal of the modern steak. Sooooo beautifully beefy and best of all, balanced.” Yes, it’s that good. No, you can't get thirty pounds of Rib Eyes.
Nutrition testing data is on our website and our FB page, (yes, we care enough to have our own testing done), as is all the information folks try to convey or imply with buzzwords.
Our Beef and Rose Veal is USDA inspected and available by the cut at our Farm Store and through our Online Store. We offer Sides and Whole Beef from the farm only; prices based on hanging weight, pre-order/deposit required. Please see web site for details about our practices.
Other farm products:
- Handcrafted Soaps, featuring our beef tallow and organic oils.
- Jams from our own pesticide/herbicide/fungicide-free fruit, cane sugar and pectin—and nothing else,
- VERY limited quantities of live poultry, eggs, and hatching eggs, raised Free Range on organic feed: Dorking Chickens, Sebastopol Geese, and Heritage Breed Turkeys.

Swift Level's rolling 152
acres are located just outside of Lewisburg in Greenbrier County. Family
farming in southern WV since 1843, we have a love of land and animals.
Our Angus steers are born "across
the fence" on our neighbor's farm where we watch them grow and
play with their herd on free pasture grazing and hay. They come "through
the gate" to us at 10–12 months of age where we finish them
on the same familiar grasses until they have naturally matured to their
individual finished weight, between 20–27 months. The steers
move about freely on well managed pastures, have abundant flowing clean
spring water, and are supplemented only with organic kelp and
necessary supported minerals for balanced health. Thoughtful
and wise animal husbandry practices insure our animals have the best
life we can offer them. We are in compliance with a USDA/NRCS organic
land certification program. All streams, springs and woodlands
are protected.
We use a small, family run USDA, Animal Welfare
Approved abattoir. It is vitally important to us that slaughter is
done thoughtfully and carefully. Our
beef dry-hangs for a minimum of 30 days. All packaging is vacuum sealed.
Tag numbers are imprinted to trace each package of beef from birth
to consumer. This delicious beef sells by the cut, no order too
small or too large! We process year round and ship direct all
over the country.
To order: Please visit our website for
cut and price listing, updated weekly

Triple E Farms is a small, family-owned farm focused on doing things the old fashioned way. You know, like it was about 100 hundred years ago. There were barely any chemicals or drugs. Farmers worked with the land, instead of against it. Animals were always outside. Most foods traveled from the farm to the home, and that's it. It might seem like this food is going extinct... but it still exists! We're doing it right now.
We offer 100% grass fed raw dairy and cheese, grass-fed/grass-finished beef, pork, eggs, broilers (meat chickens), and turkeys.
Our dairy cows and beef cattle are managed using rotational grazing to provide them with fresh grass as much of the year as possible.
Our poultry is all raised outside and kept on fresh grass so they get their fill of bugs and fresh grass and we supplement with a non-GMO, corn and soy free feed so their nutrition requirements are met. This provides a delicious and healthy product.
Our pork is raised in the forest/pasture where they have access to shrub roots as well as fresh grass which in turn gives our pork a mouth-watering flavor. We also supplement our pigs with non-GMO, corn-and-soy-free feed to meet their nutrition requirements.
We have pickup locations locally. We ship to all lower 48 states.
