Bauer Custom Meats is a family-owned and run business in northern Illinois, centrally located between Chicago, Peoria, La Salle/Peru, Rockford, and the Quad Cities. We serve all of northern Illinois and eastern Iowa. We do not ship and currently do not offer delivery. We raise grass-fed and finished whole and half lamb and beef seasonally. We believe in the humane treatment of animals allowed to live similarly as they would in nature, not crowded in a feedlot and fed unnaturally high levels of grains and concentrates. Our animals are never treated or implanted with hormones, or fed antibiotics to unnaturally increase rate of weight gain. We use an inspected meat processor nearby and butcher to your specifications. Bauer Custom Meats, Anthony or Sandy Bauer, PO Box

The birth of Fockler Creek Farm was the result of two common stories: A father with diabetes, and a son who wanted to farm but saw no way in. Sound like a strange combination? Shouldn’t, in this day and age. Through the experience of a serious case of diabetes (6 shots a day) being managed with whole foods, and a dream of farming becoming reality with the use of innovative and unconventional techniques, Fockler Creek Farms took flight! Brian, the previous farmer-to-be, and Scott the recovering diabetic, along with their wives and children, now raise grass-fed, grass-finished beef. Fockler Creek Farm’s mission is “To implement and develop systems of agriculture that result in solvent farmers, sane people, and sound ecosystems.” Since we are all part of the whole, the creation, the ecosystem, or whatever other term you use to describe it, our mission directs us to provide you with food that nourishes and heals. We’re very passionate about this as we have seen the difference it has made in our own lives. We’re also very passionate about promoting farmer-centric methods of agriculture and ways of farming that affirm the value of life. We look forward to connecting you with the best our farm has to offer! Fockler Creek Farms, Margaret Wosepka, 2450 60th St. Ackley, IA 50601. Galen Bontrager Farm is a 'Beyond Organic" direct marketing, grass-based farm featuring Salad Bar Beef, Salad Bar Lamb, pastured pork, pastured broilers, pastured turkey, and pastured eggs. As a former Polyface Inc. apprentice with Joel Salatin, I raise my animals using the Salatin methods that are highlighted in Michael Pollan's runaway bestseller The Omnivores Dilemma. (I'm actually mentioned in the book because I was an apprentice while Michael was there gathering the information for his book). I am not "certified organic" but avoid the use of chemicals, growth hormones, genetically modified grains, antibiotics, dead animal parts, chicken litter, or drugs. Sales of all products are seasonal; please contact me for availability. Custom beef is sold in wholes, halves, and quarters, and both custom lamb and pork in wholes or halves. Broilers and turkeys are custom ordered, processed, and picked up at the farm. On-farm sales of non-chlorinated eggs May–October. I do not ship food anywhere and encourage people to patronize local producers. People are welcome to visit the farm, connect with their food, and see how it's raised. I greatly appreciate your support to keep local family farming alive and well. In business since 2004! For any inquiries about my products, ordering information, farm visits, and full-scale guided farm tours, please give me a call. I look forward to serving you. Joyfully at your service! Galen Bontrager Farm, Galen Bontrager, 1840 500th Street SW, Kalona IA 52247. (319) 683-3199.
Grateful Graze began as a way to provide healthy food from healthy soil to local families. Today we offer 100% grass-fed / grass-finished beef, pasture-raised chicken and eggs, and timber-raised pork online. We offer home delivery around our region, pickup locations, and UPS delivery to select zip codes (enter your zip code on our website to find the location nearest you). We have worked for many years to adopt soil-improving practices such as no-till, buffer strips, and cover crops on our family farm in Cambridge, Illinois. Now we are bringing livestock back to the land in the way God designed the soil-plant-animal system to work. We believe that soil health, animal health, and human health are linked together in ways we are just beginning to understand. Our cattle are outside in fields, never eat grain, and move across the land like a herd. They never receive antibiotics, hormones, or insecticides. The chickens are mobile pastured, moved daily. Our open-air mobile hoop house protects them from predators and gives them the shelter and daylight they naturally want. It holds 600 chickens and is pulled onto fresh grass each day, keeping the floor fresh while leaving the “fertilizer” behind. Using some ingenuity with our homemade remote-controlled winch, we move the house forward while keeping all the chickens safe from the moving building. Like the cows, the chickens never receive antibiotics, hormones, or insecticides. Our pigs are forest-raised, allowed to forage, and root around in the trees, bushes, and open air. This offers a great life for the pigs; they enjoy a natural habitat creating an environment with no need for antibiotics, hormones, or insecticides. We are grateful for your belief in us, our team who makes this possible, the animals in our care, and the land we steward. Thank you for choosing Grateful Graze. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for weekly updates. Contact us to set up a farm tour to learn how our animals live and how they impact your family's health! Our animals are frequently given a fresh smorgasbord of forages. Our grazing management practices promote high soil fertility, and highly mineralized soil. We believe these high quality forages result in superior quality food. We sell all of our meat by the whole, half, or quarters. Beef is available throughout the year. R|C Farm is a small family farm located in rural southwest Iowa. It is owned and operated by Caleb and Rebecca Baker. We are perennial pasture-based and specialize in 100% grass-fed beef cattle. As a farmer, it is my belief that the quality of our food directly depends on the quality of the soil in which it was grown. At R|C Farm, we understand the importance of healthy soil for our farm to thrive and produce nutrient-dense food. We’ve adopted regenerative farming practices not only to improve our environment, but to produce nutritious foods for your table. We follow Mother Nature’s lead to ensure that the soil stays fertile and productive. We believe how our food is produced translates into a positive change in agriculture and nature. As we farm from the ground up, we want to share with you our passion for sustainable farming and celebrate producing quality pasture-raised foods for a healthier you. Ruger Family Farm is a family business focused on regenerating our farm to improve the health of the soil, plants and animals that grow here. By emphasizing biology and ecologically sustainable farming practices, not only is farm health improving but more nutritious food is produced. This year we are concentrating on raising Berkshire pasture pigs (pork). A key to improving farm health is adding diversity and one way we do this is by growing multiple species of plants for the pigs to consume and root up (they’re pigs! 😉). For example, one mix that we have seeded contains non-GMO soybeans, cowpeas, pearl millet, BMR sorghum sudangrass, forage sorghum, forage collards, sunflower, turnip, buckwheat and okra. Watch the pigs and you can see the happiest pigs play in the soil. Pigs are monogastric (have a single-compartment stomach) like us, so a pig does not grow on forage alone. So, in addition to rotation on fresh pasture, the pigs receive a non-GMO grain ration. This includes corn, soybean meal, rolled oats, buttermilk, alfalfa meal, reed sedge meal, and aloe pellets. We also believe that adding apple cider vinegar to the water helps keep our pigs’ digestive systems healthy. Call us to make an appointment to check out the farm. Our pigs are sold by the half or whole. Your animal is processed by a local butcher in the fall, and you pick up at that location. For an additional cost, you can make arrangements with us for delivery. For pricing information and to reserve your pig, please contact us by phone or email us soon. We will need your contact information and a deposit to reserve. Ruger Family Farm, Laura Ruger, 307 340th Street, Fenton, IA 50539. (913) 687-9266.E-mail: RugerFamilyFarm@gmail.com. Thankful Harvest is a grass-based, organic farm applying organic management for the benefit of the consumer, the environment, the animals and the farm. If you grew your own food, we believe you would do it like we do. We supply certified organic 100% grass-finished beef; 100% grass-finished lamb; pastured, free-range poultry (chicken and turkey); and non-soy farmstead eggs. We feed our crops minerals based on detailed soil testing so that the crops are able to put more nutrition into what the animals and the consumers eat. If the minerals are not in the soil, they cannot make it to the table. We feed our chickens organic flax which is shown to increase beneficial fatty acids in the eggs. We strive to deliver maximum human nutrition to your family's table. We deliver to homes, food coops, and buying clubs in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. We also ship nationwide via appropriate shipping options. Thankful Harvest’s Tenderheart Beef, Tom and

Tuuli Farm is nestled in the Loess Hills of western Iowa, about halfway between Sioux City and Omaha. Listen! A bobwhite quail announces himself as I set fence for the next grazing paddock in the folds of the hills. Caring for my Romney- and Corriedale-cross sheep links me to our living earth, and these relationships flow through the yarn, grass-fed meat, and lambskins we create. These are celebrations of our connections and an invitation to deepen them. The lambs graze alongside their mothers for the whole summer. In winter and times of drought, I feed the flock grass hay and alfalfa. They always have access to free-choice minerals and kelp. For insights into the flock and farm, follow along on Instagram. Grassfed lamb is available each fall by the half or whole; new this year I will also have some USDA-certified cuts available. Contact me for the latest! By the half or whole, the lamb meat is cut to your specification and typically ready in mid-November. Reservations are usually open from June–October. Reserve your whole or half lamb order on my website. Contact me if you prefer to send your deposit by mail.
