Want real butter that's soft, spreadable, fresh and odor-free?

BrandyAnns is owned and operated by David and Gail Brandyberry, fifth generation Western Kansas Farmers. With much input from their children Brent, Amanda and Kerby, their forage-based, grass finished beef, lamb, dairy and meat goat and poultry products, marketed as BrandyAnns, is "food grown the way nature intended, with no added hormones, chemicals, or sub therapeutic antibodies, just lots of Tender Loving Care."

Our cows are Shorthorn Angus Cross and Purebred Shorthorn with heavy Milking Shorthorn influence; our lambs are Suffolk and Suffolk-Hamp cross; our Nubian Goats are used for both dairy and meat production. All are raised on our farm and processed at an inspected slaughter facility with cuts being available year-round, halves and wholes by order. Layers and fryers are ordered in as day old chicks from professional hatcheries, with no alterations or vaccinations. Put to pasture in a matter of days, after about 6 weeks of growth fryers are processed on the farm by us and are available through the summer and fall; pre order is highly recommended. Range fed hen eggs are available year round.

Want a tour? Our farm is what we refer to as "a work in progress" but we love to give folks the tour or just a chance to enjoy the country. We are located an easy 6 miles south of Keith Sebelius Reservoir in Norton County. Come see us sometime!

The MJ Ranch is a 520 acre ranch that produces 100% grass fed/finished natural Angus beef. Cattle are raised using humane, sustainable farming practices with no synthetic pesticides or herbicides used on pastures. Cattle are rotated on lush green pastures during the summer and our own high quality brome and alfalfa hay is rolled out on the pastures during the winter months—thus our beeves are never confined in a feedlot. They are given no growth hormones or antibiotics.

Health benefits of grass fed beef are awesome! It is low in saturated fat (comparable to bison) and high in Omega 3's, CLA, Vitamin A and E, Beta Carotene, etc. Check it out! This nutritious beef can be purchased at the Community Mercantile in Lawrence.

We personally sell sides from June through December, by hanging weight. Orders are taken by phone year-round to assure beef availability.

Gourmet ground beef is available all year directly from the ranch. Free delivery, at a central location, in Lawrence once a month—with orders of 10 pounds or more! We take a young market steer, keep out only the loin and rib, and grind the rest into deluxe hamburger. Call, See, and Taste!.

Myers' Farm is a small family farm located in south central Kansas. On our farm we raise as many heritage animals as possible.

We raise a heritage breed of pigs, called Red Wattles. By raising these animals we hope to help insure survival of this breed which was once considered extinct until a few head were discovered in a wooded area of Texas.

The key to the survival of many heritage breeds may well be the incredible difference in flavor. The rich red marbled meat of the Red Wattle is beginning to be offered in a few fine restaurants, but cannot be purchased in grocery stores. We have limited quantities available now and hope to offer more in the future as our little herd expands. The Red Wattles on our farm forage free range, and are fed a natural diet of garden vegetables, skim milk, and corn. We do not use antibiotics or hormones.

We offer free-range eggs from heritage chickens, usually spring through fall.

We make products such as feta cheese and yogurt from fresh grass fed Jersey milk produced on our farm, and jellies from wild plums. Seasonally, we have free-range beef and fresh vegetables. All meats are processed in USDA approved facilities. Please email us for information on availability of products or 2007 CSA shares.

Oak Creek Bison raises and sells grassfed American Bison. Our animals graze year round on the same native grasses that bison have lived on for centuries. In the winter months, their feed is supplemented with native prairie hay and alfalfa cubes. The animals are given NO growth hormones or drugs. Parasite control is obtained by using diatomaceous earth administered in the alfalfa cubes. In addition to the traditional cuts of meat, we also have available a chopped and formed 100% grassfed Bison Jerky, which does not require refrigeration. Bison skulls and hides are also available.
