Alger Family Farm wants to provide people with healthy food as affordably as we can. Currently, we offer pastured chickens and turkeys, grass finished beef and lamb, whole wheat bread, all natural soaps, and free range eggs when available.
Our meat chickens and turkeys start out right on pasture in a floorless pen. We have a hover with a heat lamp in the pen so that they can run under to get warm. They also run around pecking the ground for bugs and vegetation from their very first day of life. At this stage we move them as needed. At two to three weeks, they no longer need the heat lamp and begin to get moved through our pasture daily. In addition to the bugs and vegetation, we feed them a GMO-free/organic feed ration. Our moveable pens keep them safe from possums, raccoons, hawks and other predators while still allowing them fresh air, sunshine and access to the bugs and vegetation they need. When they are around eight weeks old, they are ready to butcher.
Our lamb and beef is 100% pasture finished and the animals only eat grass, other plants, salt and a high quality kelp & mineral supplement. We never give them hormones, antibiotics or chemical wormers. We spray no chemicals on our pastures.
Our free-range laying hens sleep in a moveable hoophouse and are protected on 1/2 an acre by an electric woven fence which we move as needed. We feed them a GMO-free/organic feed ration. They are allowed out during the day to eat all the bugs and plant material that they desire.
Our bread is all natural and baked with Certified chemical-free whole white wheat. Our soaps are all natural. There are never any artificial colorings or synthetic fragrances added to them. Herbs and essential oils add fragrance and even color to our soaps. Hard soaps last longer and these soaps are made to do just that. Each batch is mixed and cut by hand, so there will be slight variations in our handmade soaps. Each bar is approximately 4 ounces.
Farm membership, due by March 15th each year, gives you a 5% discount on chickens, turkeys, bread, eggs and soaps. No discount on beef or lamb. Information on membership at web site.

Attadale Farm—Hello and welcome to Attadale Farm. My name is Steve Fahsbender and my wife is Sandy. We raise quality, true, grass-fed Galloway beef and have the best free-range eggs you've ever eaten. We started Attadale Farm for my own health benefit. I had developed plaque blockage in my carotid arteries and needed to make a diet correction. The typical grain-fed beef we were eating was contributing to my problem, just as it does for so many others. It is important to me that my cows eat right. I need to know for sure. Now, My Cows Eat Right So You Can Too!
Our process here is simple. We have designed our mix of pasture grasses to provide the protein, digestible nutrients and sugars our cows need to grow healthy and happy without forcing them on a unnatural diet. Since we take our pasture seriously, we do not use any grain, additional hormones or any antibiotics. If antibiotics are medically necessary for a cow, they will be provided but that cow will be removed from my diet and our grass-fed program. Minerals and vitamins are continually available. We don't prod or crowd our cows. They are led and graze humanely. We believe that well-treated animals live to their full potential.
Our beef is sold by the split 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2. Our beef is sold by the hanging weight and is processed by Swiss Meat and Sausage Co. in Hermann, Missouri. By ordering in advance you will be able to select the cuts you desire. We also generally have spare cuts of beef that we will sell in groups of four. Please contact us for updated information, availability and pricing. Shipping is also available.
We encourage you to stop by and check us out.

Boatright Farms provides delicious Pastured Eggs, Grass Fed to Finish Beef, Grass Fed to Finish Lamb, and Pastured Broilers. David, Mariah, and Baby Judah Boatright manage Boatright farms with a focus on the health of the soil, plants, animals, and people who are nourished by their nutrient-dense food.
We believe that health begins in the soil. A healthy soil grows healthy plants. These healthy plants take up more vitamins, minerals, and nutrients which in turn produce healthier animals. Finally, these nutrients are passed to the families who enjoy our farm fresh products.
The health, diversity, and fertile soil of the prairies was created by the migration of massive herds of buffalo grazing and trampling grass to the soil surface. Our grazing system mimics this natural system by using portable fencing to move (migrate) our animals across our lush pastures. The chickens follow the cattle, sanitizing, debugging, and fertilizing the pasture while consuming a nutrient-rich and diverse diet of forage, bugs, seeds and (non-GMO) grains. The results have been stunning, the natural system has been reinvigorated, and the land is healing. We grow more grass, filter more water, sustain more wildlife, cultivate more plant diversity, and further increase the biological activity of the soil each year while simultaneously producing more nutrient-dense food.
By mimicking natural systems and working with nature we have eliminated the need for harsh herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, artificial growth hormones and antibiotics. This Is a family friendly farm and we would love to give your family a connection to a farm and nutrient-dense pure food.
You can purchase our products from our farm buying club at fedfromthefarm.com. When you do this, you are supporting local, sustainable agriculture, the health and vitality of the land, and our farm family. Thank you.

At Cedar Cove Farm, we believe in raising
all natural, hormone and antibiotic free animals. We use no additives
or preservatives in our broiler chickens or meat rabbits.
Our broilers are available in June/July and again in September/October.
We work in a direct market basis, but will take orders.
The broilers are raised on grass beginning at the
third week of life in the protection of a "chicken tractor." The
tractor is moved to fresh grass twice daily. They are fed a supplement
of various grains mixed with Fertrell's Poultry Nutribalancer to ensure
proper trace minerals and optimal health. We also offer eggs from
free-range hens that thrive on a diet of grass and bugs and whatever
they can find. They sleep in permanent buildings and are
allowed to roam during the day.
Our rabbits are fed alfalfa pellets and supplemented
with fresh cut grass or hay. The rabbits are available as pets or meat,
already packaged. They are available in spring and fall, please
call for pricing and availability.
Cedar Cove Farm is also a Fertrell dealer and we
believe in returning to the ground what we take out of it. This is accomplished
through Fertrell's natural and organic certifiable soil enhancing products
and fertilizers, but mostly our continued education in the area of pasture
management. We offer various food supplements for the health of your
animals and, ultimately, you.
We believe in supporting local agriculture and staying
small, building relationships with our customers. We are always learning
and seeking advice with a goal of having quality pasture, land and animals.

Better Meats Farm is a family-owned and operated business for the past five years producing quality 100% grass-fed beef in Missouri.
Better Meats operates on the principle that we need to protect our environment in order to raise healthy cows and ultimately produce nutritious meat. Through our research and experience, we have utilized techniques that allow us to raise tender beef that is full of flavor year round, while optimizing the health of our soil. We do this by grazing our beeves until they are full grown, never feeding grain or growth hormones.
Better Meats understands the harmful effect of fertilizers, poisons and pesticides on people, animals and the soil; hence, we use rotational grazing. This also allows us to eliminate the use of antibiotics as well as wormers from all our beef cattle. In addition, by carefully managing the pastures, Better Meats can year-round graze, which is healthiest for cattle and the pasture alike.
We sell our beef in quarters, halves, and wholes. We also sell 100% grass-fed ground beef throughout the year. Our veal is only available in the spring.

David Inyart raises grass fed beef in Tunas, MO, about a one-hour drive north of Springfield.
One of the key elements to raising high quality grass fed beef is having high quality forage. I have been fully convinced of, and am presently implementing, intensive grazing, which is a great way to manage your pastures. When intensive grazing, the animals are put in a small area, which concentrates their manure (thus fertilizing the pasture) and helps to maintain more even grazing. Rotating the animals on a regular basis, (once a day in my case), gives the animals fresh pasture every day, and gives the manure time to break down and the grass time to regrow before grazing again. By intensive grazing, you can lengthen the grazing season, provide high quality forage longer through the summer, and stockpile grass for the winter, lessening the need for hay. During the winter, the cattle are fed hay only; I do not feed any grain whatsoever. I do not use any hormones, antibiotics, herbicides or pesticides. Cattle have access to free choice minerals and salt year round.
Beef is available by the whole, half, and quarter, and is sold by the hanging weight. It can be picked up at the butcher or delivered for a fee. Beef by the individual cut is also available.
It is my desire to raise high quality beef that is healthy for you and your family. Call today for pricing, to place an order for your beef, or to schedule a visit to see how your food is raised.

Deep Blue Farms, in north-central Arkansas, is owned and managed by John and Gayle Armstrong. Our focus is on raising the most wholesome, natural, wonderful-for-you chicken, pork, and beef. We are pursuing real, quality food for ourselves and our families, and we want you to share in the goodness.
Our beef is grass-finished, supplemented only with natural minerals and salt, in a rotational grazing system. We raise our own calves and leave them with their mamas for at least six to eight months. Our pork is pastured, also in a rotational system, feeding on non-GMO corn, grass, acorns, and other foods they find in their natural environment. Our Red Broiler chickens are also moved to fresh grass each day, feeding on clover, grass and bugs, along with the natural, non-GMO grains they need. We also raise turkeys on pasture once a year, to be available in November.
None of our animals are treated with hormones or steroids; antibiotics are used rarely and only as needed. They are treated with love and care. Our pastures are free of chemical fertilizer and grow lush on the rotational grazing system. Our own well supplies plenty of fresh water for the animals.
Our beef is available in individual cuts or by halves or quarters. Pork also is available in cuts or halves. Chicken is available in wholes, cut-ups, and parts, as well as livers, gizzards, hearts, and feet (excellent for making bone broth!). Turkeys are packaged whole. Eggs are also available.
Our meat is available locally at our farm near Hardy, at the Spring River Health Connection in Ash Flat, and at the ASU Farmers’ Market in Jonesboro (May thru October). Through the winter, we also meet buyers every other week in Jonesboro, to be available year-round.

Farmer Brown Beef is located near Warrensburg,
MO, about 50 miles southeast of Kansas City. Delivery is available within
a 100 mile radius including the Kansas side of the Kansas City area.
Our family has been raising and eating grass fed
Polled Herefords in a closed herd for about 50 years. Recently we have
begun to give the cattle fresh grass daily through rotational grazing
mimicking natural herd behavior. We do not use grain, antibiotics,
or hormones. Our carbon footprint is quite small and through
our rotational grazing management we expect will become highly carbon
sequestering as the soil awakens with life and begins building topsoil
naturally at a vigorous rate.
This healthy, environmentally and humanely
raised 100% grass fed beef is available as wholes, halves or split
halves. Meat is processed by Remer in Clinton and dry aged.

Farrar Family Farm is located 50 miles south of Kansas City in Adrian, MO. We offer grass-fed, grass-finished beef, forest-raised pork, pasture-raised chicken and free-range eggs. Our goal is to provide you with naturally raised wholesome food using sustainable farming methods that mimic the patterns found in nature.
We use rotational grazing to raise our grass-fed, grass-finished beef. We move the cattle around our farm daily to new pastures and fresh forage.
The chickens and turkeys live on pasture with fresh air and sunshine. They scratch and forage for grass and bugs in addition to their non-GMO feed. Our egg layers follow behind the cattle in their rotation cycle. They sanitize the pastures while ranging for natural sources of food along with their non-GMO feed. This cooperation between the cows and the chickens allows for the healthiest pastures and the most nutrient-rich eggs.
What is forest-raised pork? Pigs that live in the forest! This is the ideal environment for a pig. They use their snout to root around and turn up the ground uncovering food on the forest floor. They also have access to non-GMO feed. Good bacon comes from happy pigs.
Each month we make deliveries in Raymore, Lee’s Summit, Lenexa and KCMO/plaza areas. In the summer you can find us at the Raymore & Lee’s Summit farmers markets. We sell our products as individual pieces (1 steak, 1 pound ground, 1 whole chicken, etc.) with no minimum order. We offer bulk/wholesale options (half, quarter or eighth beef) or CSAs in the summer (May-October). Check our website for pictures and information on our farming methods. Email us for pricing or to place an order. Visit our website for updated information and follow us on Facebook or Instagram!

Fresh Pasture Farms is a family-owned farm that produces wholesome pasture-raised products for your family. We offer pasture-raised eggs, chicken, pork and turkeys.
All of our products are available in our on-farm store. Hours are Tuesdays 1 to 4pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm.
The broiler chickens and turkeys are rotated daily to fresh pasture. Our laying hens are in an eggmobile that goes all around the farm. The eggmobile keeps them safe during the night and provides a place to lay their eggs. They get all the grass, bugs and sunshine they want. All of our chickens and turkeys are supplemented with a non-GMO ration that is corn- and soy-free.
Our pigs are raised outdoors on the pasture. They have access to woodlands where they can find acorns and get shade for warmer days. They are rotated regularly giving them access to fresh pasture and woods.
We also have a great selection of produce. All of our produce, just like the rest of our farm, never receives any chemicals or synthetic fertilizers. Check us out on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date with Fresh Pasture Farms.

At the Garrett Family Farm, we strive to offer our community non-genetically modified pasture-raised pork, chicken, and chicken eggs alternatives.
We believe in raising all natural, hormone- and antibiotic-free animals. We use no additives or preservatives in our animals. Our broilers are available periodically from spring through fall. We encourage customers to make future orders however large or small, and we also regularly attend several of the local farmers’ markets including: Carthage, Webb City, and Freeman markets.
The broilers are raised on grass beginning at the third week of life in the protection of a "chicken tractor." The tractor is moved to fresh grass daily. They are fed a NON-GMO supplement of various grains for optimal health. We also offer eggs from pasture-raised hens that thrive on a diet of grass and bugs and whatever they can find. They sleep in a large mobile hay wagon coop and are allowed to roam during the day within their mobile fencing which is moved as needed to sustain a clean and healthy life.
It is extremely important to us that our customers and their families know they are always welcome to visit our farm to establish a connection with their healthy, natural food. We believe in supporting our local community and staying small, building relationships with our customers. We are continuing to learn and are seeking advice with a goal of having quality pasture, land, and animals.

Giles Ranch is a small farm located in Southwest Missouri, just north of the Joplin/Carthage area. We are dedicated to raising all-natural, grass-fed beef and lamb. By all-natural, we mean that our animals are not given steroids, hormones, antibiotics, medicated feed, or any other performance enhancers. We also do not use any chemicals, pesticides or herbicides on our pastures. While not certified organic, we are organic in practice. We strive to give all of the animals a fresh, healthy, stress-free environment.
Our main goal is to be good stewards of the land and animals that God has so graciously provided and blessed us with. We truly believe that by producing all natural grass-fed products, we can help improve people's health and lives by providing them with a healthy alternative to the factory raised products you find at most grocery stores.

Gladhour Farm is a family farm
in north central Missouri. The farming plan is sustainable
agriculture: row crops are certified organic; veal and beef
are raised naturally on cow's milk and forage with no added
hormones or subtherapeutic antibiotics; and heritage breeds
(Irish Dexter Cattle and Babydoll Southdown Sheep) are raised
for breeding stock and enjoyment.
Historic landmarks, roadways, equipment, buildings,
and plants are valued to give visitors glimpses of times gone by and
current opportunities for simplicity, and are a highlight on the farm.
A pair of Dexter oxen are currently in training (a new adventure). When
you arrange to pick up your meat order, you can make a visit and watch
Gladhour Farm’s natural beef and veal come
from pure Dexters and Dexter crosses, so the cuts are smaller than typical.
Some say the tenderness and flavor are subtly special and unusually delightful.
Shipping for GF meats may become a reality in the future. For now, totally
grass-finished beef and natural veal can be ordered ahead for a completely
custom-done whole-animal order, or can be bought by the half or sample
package by contacting GF with your order.
The meat is USDA-inspected, dry-aged, packaged and
frozen. Pick up is done by arranging to meet at the locker plant. With
your GF meat purchase, you are helping to sustain a farming community
by supporting both a small, local, family-run meat processing business
and Gladhour Farm family farm.

Goff Greengate Farm's mission is to handle the land as God intended… naturally, with good stewardship and using the most natural and sustainable products available to us at the time. We offer all-natural, pastured, grass-finished lamb and beef.
Our pastured poultry meat birds are fed organic, non-soy, non-GMO feed along with Fertrell's Poultry Nutribalancer trace minerals in addition to the fresh pasture land they are rotated onto twice each day via their "chicken tractors." Because we have chosen to process our own broiler chickens, no saline injections, additives, or preservatives are ever a part of our broiler chicken final products! Our 2013 broiler harvest dates are (tentatively) May 11, June 29, and September 28. You will also discover that our pastured free-range hens’ eggs are better than anything you’ll find in the store! You won’t have to worry about hormones and antibiotics when you purchase our livestock and products.
We want to serve you only that which we would also enjoy eating. We believe you'll enjoy natural more than ever before when you also know that you're buying local, supporting local farms, and building lasting relationships that benefit everyone involved. Thank you for supporting your local farmers!
We direct market our products using pre-orders for meat birds and lamb and beef. Chicken broilers are set for on-farm site pick-up but we do sometimes offer delivery meeting sites for additional fees.
Our location in southwest Missouri makes us within an hour's drive from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas too!

milk from Jersey-cross cows. Owners Kerry and Barb

Highway H Highland Cattle Ranch supplies the highest quality grass fed Highland beef to conscientious consumers. They are raised on our farm in northern Laclede County Missouri and are never fed any antibiotics, hormones, steroids, animal byproducts, or GMOs.
Highlanders are a heritage breed of cattle that have not been altered genetically, and as such, they produce a premium quality beef that is naturally lower in fat and cholesterol and higher in protein than other meats, and it is also high in Omega 3's, making it an ideal choice for those who follow Paleo. They have an outer coat of hair to keep them warm and dry and a thicker hide that reduces the need to put on a layer of fat to help them stay warm.
The best part about Highland beef is it's superior taste and tenderness. Our animals take a minimum of 24 months to mature to perfection, and we have them processed at a small family-owned state inspected processing plant in central Missouri. We sell superior ground beef in one pound packages, delicious and tender steaks, as well as mouth watering roasts, and we sell by the individual cut, or bulk packages.

Legacy Ranch is situated in the rolling hills of the Ozark mountains in the 4-states region of SW Missouri, NE Oklahoma, NW Arkansas and SE Kansas. We are a grower of all natural grass-fed and grass-finished Belted Galloway Beef. Belted Galloway are one of the oldest breeds of cattle and have the least amount of backfat, next to the Buffalo. Scientific studies have shown numerous health benefits to Belted Galloway beef.
All our animals are raised on rich legume pastures with no grain, fresh water and are managed humanely and with low stress at all times. Our cattle are not given growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, or antibiotics and our farm follows organic procedures, we are looking into certification but are not certified at present.
We have animals available year round and offer either a half or whole beef, and always have premium beltie hamburger available for purchase. Our animals are ready for processing around 24 months of age and are generally dry aged for up to 21 days. All processing is USDA inspected. If purchasing a half or whole animal, you select the cuts you want. Beef can be vacuum packed or double freezer wrapped, your choice.

Liberty Farms Organics: Viburnum, MO. Organic goes beyond non-GMO. GMOs, toxic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and artificial colors and flavors are all prohibited under USDA organic regulations. We don't use any of those. The standards do allow the use of many things that we don’t use such as antibiotics. So even though we are not USDA certified organic, we go beyond those standards.
Everything our animals eat is either grown here or is labeled as being certified organic, exceptions being sea salt, minerals and some hay we feed from off-farm. We go to great lengths to research our animal food sources. Animals are never given any hormones, vaccines, chemical wormers, antibiotics or pharmaceuticals.
We offer fresh chicken eggs. Our chickens run outside finding food for themselves except at night. The grain they are fed is labeled as being certified organic and includes no soy products. If you're interested in the grain mix we feed let us know.
We also offer fresh raw goat milk, which is seasonal. We use herbal wormers and supplemental feeds such as pumpkin seeds, rose hips, sunflower seeds, garlic, dolomite, kelp and many others in order to ensure they are getting a well rounded diet. We keep the number of goats on our farm to a minimum in order give the ones we have plenty of room to browse.
If our goats are lactating and there is insufficient pasture we give them (according to how much milk they are making) approximately one to two cups of grain mix that is 50% barley, 37% oats, and 13% wheat bran by weight, all certified organic grains. One cup of this mix weighs about 135 grams (4.7 oz.). The goats making less milk get less grain.
We also offer goat milk soap.

At Linneman Heritage Hogs, Red Wattles are the breed we currently raise, with the intent to add Herefords. Our pigs (pork) are rotated through 14 paddocks on the perimeter of our five acres. We smooth and re-sow the terrain as they move out of a paddock.
We mix, grind and ferment our rations daily and onsite. We use no corn, soy or GMOs in our rations. Ingredients we use are: wheat, oats, black oil sunflower seeds, field peas, lime, diatomaceous earth, flax, minerals, and kelp. Apple cider vinegar, raw milk, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and homegrown garlic are added when we start the 2–3 day fermentation soak.
We do not chemically deworm, vaccinate, give iron shots, medicate, castrate, clip teeth or tails or confine any of our animals.
Currently we offer two litters annually resulting in very limited quantities available for sale. We do have an additional 20-acre pasture available and plan to add a Hereford sow to our mix in 2016.
We don't have a website but my FB page (Teri Linneman) has pictures of our pigs (and chickens!) if you want to take a look :-) Please call, e-mail, or private message me on FB with questions or for more information.

Mitts Family Naturals. Are you concerned with the industrialization of our food supply? Troubled by the increasing reports of food borne illness, food allergies and chronic disease? Are you ready to "opt-out" of the chemically laden, over processed, genetically modified food chain? If so, "opt-out" with us at Mitts Family Naturals, where we follow nature's patterns to provide nourishing products for your family.
We are growers of pastured chickens, rabbits and eggs. Our chickens and rabbits are housed in portable pens that are moved daily. This reduces disease and parasites, so antibiotics are not needed. The chickens and rabbits are allowed constant access to green pastures and sunshine increasing the nutritional value of the meat.
All butchering is done on the farm in
a clean open air environment. No chemicals are used in processing. All "waste" from
butchering is composted.
Our laying hens are allowed free roaming from sun-up to sun-down. They forage on the farm for what chickens were meant to eat. In return they give us great tasting eggs.

The Nutty Pig Farm is home to Red Wattle and Large Black heritage hogs (pork), which are known for their great tasting meat.
We raise them on pastures of clover and orchard grass. We rotate the pastures and in the winter give the hogs alfalfa or clover hay. They are always free to roam the woods to forage for nuts and grubs. We supplement with grains - no hormones or medication. They live a natural life farrowing where they choose - some like the woods, some the pasture and some their shelters. We have a boar of each breed with their own families, all ages together - they have fun loving to run around, graze the pastures, or wallow in their pond and self made mud holes.
We offer piglets, roasting and butcher hogs, 1/2 and whole hogs or cuts of meat. We will deliver the hogs to the processor of the customers choice. We mostly use Swiss meats as they do a great job and are USDA.

Our hogs are a cross of Hereford and Berkshire breeding mostly and are
raised outdoors on dirt. They are fed a non-gmo corn and soybean meal

Pasture Nectar Farm is located in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. Our primary product is grass. Our grass gets harvested by some lucky cows, poultry, and sheep, and they turn it into lots of delectable things – the nectar: milk, cream, eggs, meat.
Our Shorthorn cows produce excellent meat, milk and cream for your family. They eat fresh grass and clover from our rotated chemical-free pastures during the growing season, and hay in the winter—never steroids, hormones, or animal by-products. In the parlor, they enjoy a non-GMO ration, 3 to 4 lbs or less, but enough to give them the extra calories they need while producing milk.
Raw milk is sold in half-gallon glass jars. You are welcome to visit our squeaky-clean dairy parlor anytime.
We offer USDA-inspected 100% grass-fed beef year-round. You can buy individual cuts any time (while quantities last) or order by the whole, half, or quarter beef. Our meat animals are 100% grass-fed.
Pastured lamb is available in whole, half or individual cuts, and is USDA-inspected.
Our free-range, out-on-the-pasture hens turn our grass and bugs into delicious, omega-3 eggs.
If you haven’t tried grass-based local food before, you will be amazed at the difference in the quality and taste plus you will be supporting a local family and helping to assure that you will have food grown close by in the future -- very important in these days of distant industrial one-size-fits-all food production. Peace Valley Poultry raises field-grazed chicken, turkey and beef. In 1996 our family began growing wholesome range-raised poultry. We are still a small family farm committed to providing high-quality, healthy meat in a manner that respects God's creation.
Our chickens are treated carefully and naturally from day one. The ration we feed them is one we mix from whole grains, vitamins and minerals, and does NOT contain Genetically Modified ingredients or any medications. The pasture they are raised on is pesticide-free/herbicide-free and is managed holistically with rotationally grazed cattle, although it is not certified organic. The chickens are raised in hoop houses that are moved to fresh grass daily to insure healthy birds and pastures. At processing time we continue our practice of careful handling to provide high-quality fresh chicken. The end result is a truly tasty bird; "Like chicken used to taste," as many of our customers say. The chicken is sold either whole, split (in half), cut-up, or in packages of individual parts.
In November we sell turkeys that are raised the same way the chickens are. We have heard many reports from satisfied customers who don't want anything but field-grazed turkeys now that they have tried one. Fresh turkeys are available on the farm and at delivery locations before Thanksgiving.
We sell our poultry from our farm and also meet customers in Springfield and Rolla. We are looking for someone to organize a buying club in St. Louis. Our chicken is also found in MaMa Jean's in Springfield, Ozark Country Market in Poplar Bluff, and can be ordered through American Grassfed Beef http://www.americangrassfedbeef.com/pasture-raised-poultry.asp .
We buy beef steers in the spring, graze them all summer and fall and process them in December.

Pure Pasture Beef. On our five-generation
family farm of rolling Missouri hills, tree-shaded pastures,
spring-fed ponds, waterfalls, and a winding stretch of the
Little Sac River, we raise all-natural 100% grass and clover-fed,
pasture-finished beef cattle from a closed herd of
original Black Angus stock started here 30 years ago. Those
years of experience have honed to perfection a premium, natural
beef (free of antibiotics, hormones, and animal by-products)
that we're pleased to offer as top of the line.
Pure Pasture Beef is for people with the highest
standards of quality and safety, who believe that informed food choices
can enhance their physical well-being and enrich their everyday lives.
Pure Pasture Beef is processed locally in a USDA Missouri certified organic
facility, going from farm to table.
Practicing a sustainable approach to cattle management
and land use here in the heart of Ozark Mountain foothills country, we
rotate our cattle from one pasture to the next on a regular basis so
they're grazing on clean, fresh grass (along with roaming bands of white-tailed
deer and wild turkey). We cut and bale our own red clover, alfalfa, orchard
grass and brome that we feed as hay in the winter; we feed the salt and

Red Gate Farm, LLC is a small, family farm, focused on being good stewards of God's creation. Our produce is raised GMO-free, and without chemical pesticides or herbicides. In many cases, we even use heirloom and open-pollinated varieties of fruits and vegetables.
We raise our meat animals as naturally as possible, without antibiotics, hormones, or any other type of chemical or pharmaceutical. Our direct-to-consumer meat sales include heritage Red Wattle pigs raised in the forest, grass fed/finished Hereford beef cattle, meat rabbits, as well as pastured poultry including layers (eggs), cornish-cross broilers, and turkeys.
We also have Alpine Dairy Goats for milk and meat. The Dairy goats receive organic grain as a supplement to their regular hay and forest browse. The biggest milkers might receive about four pounds per day, divided over two milkings, but this is not typical and lasts only during peak season.
In addition to meats, we offer a variety of homestead and self-sufficiency classes and clinics.
Please visit our website for additional information and prices.

Russell Ranch OK raises purebred Murray Grey and Murray Grey cross cattle. The Murray Grey is known for the important traits of calving ease, feed efficiency, and carcass quality. Murray Grey beef is preferred for its consistent quality and tenderness. We personally guarantee the quality of our beef and strive to produce superior quality grass-fed beef.
We make every effort to finish out our animals on native pastures. However, we do feed purchased feed if the forage is deficient because of drought, ice storms, etc. We have a smaller place (50 acres) in NE Oklahoma and keep a small herd of around 25 grown cows. Although we have excellent pastures, we feed hay and COB (corn, oats, and barley) when the weather is bad to help keep their energy levels up. When we feed COB, we only feed a few days and only while the weather is severe. We feed in troughs and the cows and bull get approximately 25 pounds (half a sack) of feed every 2–3 days.
Our cattle never see a feedlot. Steroids and artificial growth hormones are not used on our cattle. We keep a health record on each animal and if a steer needs antibiotics, they are pulled from our program and sold on another market.
Grass-fed beef has enormous health benefits. Lower in both in overall fat and saturated fat. It also provides more omega-3 fatty acids. Meat from pastured cattle is also up to four times higher in vitamin E and much higher in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a nutrient associated with lower cancer risk, as well as higher in beta-carotene and lower in calories. Grass-fed beef is one of the healthiest protein sources available.
Our beef is dry-aged a minimum of 14 days. Dry-aging produces unparalleled flavor and tenderness. We sell the entire beef, half or quarter. Beef is processed locally in a small, family-owned facility, where it is prepared, then cut to your specification and vacuum packaged.
We are a small family-owned and operated ranch. All the beef we sell comes from our ranch and we personally care for our land and our livestock. We direct market our products using pre-orders for beef due to the rapid selling out of meat and the limited availability. Please call, write, or email for availability and current pricing.

Sassafras Valley Farm raises free-range Embden geese and Rouen ducks on our family farm in Gasconade County, Missouri.
We practice Low Impact Sustainable Agriculture (LISA) to raise geese and ducks in a traditional and environmentally sensitive fashion. We maintain a population density of less than 36 birds per acre to provide them with continuous access to fresh pasture and water. Our pastures have been carefully planted with a mixture of grasses and other plants that reflect the traditional diet of domesticated geese and ducks in harmony with the requirements of the local microclimate. Our birds are raised in a chemical free, pesticide free, hormone free environment.
Unfortunately, in the U.S., availability of dressed geese and ducks is limited due to the relative difficulty of raising them in high density confinement. Our geese and ducks are raised on free-range and natural pasture in the same traditional way that domesticated waterfowl have been raised since their original descent from their wild forbears.
Predator control (typically coyotes, feral dogs, and hawks) is accomplished through the efforts of several Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs rather than by trapping, poisoning, or shooting.
Rouen ducks are a slower maturing heritage breed with plumage similar to Mallards. They are considerably smaller than the more common Pekin ducks sold through most market outlets, and are less greasy as well as superior in flavor.
Embden geese are the traditional, large white geese familiar from pictures and folklore. Our Embdens are very low in fat due to their natural diet and healthy, outdoor living conditions.
Our geese and ducks are humanely processed in a USDA certified facility and available for purchase and shipment frozen via UPS 2nd Day Air throughout the U.S. Sassafras Valley Farm geese and ducks are also available through several local outlets in the Hermann and Saint Louis Missouri area. Consult our website for details.

SteelMeadow Farm is located between Ava and Mansfield, about an hour east of Springfield. In the rolling Ozark hills, we live in a lovely green valley nestled between clover-rich fields where we raise grass-fed Irish Dexter beef cattle and Spanish meat goats. We are proud to be both American Grassfed Association and Animal Welfare Approved.
The Irish Dexter cattle are a dual purpose breed (triple purpose if you include using them as oxen) and are registered. Dexters may be purchased as breeding stock or as packaged beef from our retail freezer. Their smaller size makes them the perfect choice for today’s health-conscious consumer and their gentle, docile nature makes them wonderful additions to the farm as well.
Our meat goats are of three Spanish lines: Valera, Pape and Weinheimer. The goats grow quickly and thrive by clearing woods, controlling and removing weeds and generally work hard on our farm. We will sell some does and bucks for your own breeding stock, or you may purchase young delicious cabrito from our retail freezer on the farm.
We have 3–5 hives of bees which forage the Ozarks pastures and woods for nectar. There are no “row crops” or sprayed fields within the bees’ flight path. Our honey won the prestigious Best Non-Local Blend in the 2013 Black Jar Honey Contest, held annually in Asheville, NC. Honey yield varies from year to year.
We do not use routine antibiotics, stimulants or growth hormones. Our animals are given free-choice custom minerals to round out their pasture/forage-based diet. Check out our website for additional offerings and news!

Three Spring Farms is a new venture in 2011 by Andrew Bachmann, Jacob Bachmann and Bryan Meyers. The Bachmann brothers have loads of knowledge and experience: they are 4th generation farmers in the neighborhood with recent degrees in Agriculture from Missou. Meyers is a recent convert after an inspiring farm experience a few decades ago. Together they are raising grassfed beef and taking steps to protect and heal the farmland that they are working.
The Bachmanns have added to their previous knowledge by attending a grassfed grazing school in 2011, while Meyers perpetually bugs them with ideas gleaned from The Stockman Grassfarmer and other journals. We are simultaneously building our pastures and our grassfeeding skills. Initial work includes the building of a herd around some cows and calves that the Bachmanns have moved from their family farm up the road. The first year has seen the conversion of tilled fields to pasture and the development of plans to protect the ponds and streams by providing internal fencing and managed grazing. The grazing company is off to a strong start and has a small number of grassfed steers to offer at the end of the first year of operations.
We feed grass and hay only. We offer mineral supplements but absolutely no hormones and no antibiotics. The cattle are outside all the time and have had minimal health issues.
The beef will be sold direct to the consumer with options on how and where it will be processed. Will deliver to the St. Louis area and will discuss options outside that immediate region. Our farm is just across the river from Illinois, so it is a worthy consideration for those in Southern Illinois as well.

Troup Land & Livestock started in 2010 when we became involved with sustainable agriculture and rotational grazing of our beef cattle. We wanted to farm better and get more out of our land than conventional farming would allow. Setting out to build a business that could offer superior food, we refined our intensive grazing practices and added pork, poultry, eggs and lamb to our farm.
From birth our animals are raised on pasture making them a true grass-finished meat, a label that offers nutrition on your table. Our livestock never receive medications, hormones, or growth stimulants and the meat is naturally non-GMO as we never feed or supplement with grain.
We fully stand behind our products as they represent years of hard work and education that built the knowledge to produce them.
So with all that being said, why should what's good for you be expensive? We strive to provide the highest quality meats at an affordable price. By purchasing meat by portions of an animal versus individual cuts you save a tremendous amount of money over multiple trips to the store or market. If you are not yet sure you are up to purchasing the preset amounts we have listed on our pricing page, then try our individual packaged meats. We guarantee you will be back for more!
